Market Director, bioenergy and thermal power, Lyngby (28918)

Would you like to lead our international business development within biomass and waste to energy in one of Denmark's major consulting companies?

COWI is the top one consultant within biomass and waste to energy consultancy in Denmark. Based on our current strongholds we experience a continued growth also outside Denmark. Your role will be to expand this and accelerate the international market development significantly.

Therefore, we are looking for an experienced, ambitious and business oriented Market Director for our department - Bioenergy and Thermal Power. You will be responsible for the market development of biomass and waste to energy sectors internationally. Being part of the department management team and report to our Vice President, you will set the direction, drive the execution and be frontline yourself in the international market on a continuous basis.  

Strong profile within biomass and waste to energy
You are most likely engineer, and hold a master of science degree or equivalent higher education and have more than 15 years of experience working in the field of Biomass and/or Waste to Energy. In addition, you have five to eight years of experience with business development from either the consulting business or energy industry.

You see yourself as market and customer-oriented, have a large network within your field and strong international relations within the biomass and/or waste to energy area.

You have an employment history showing international business development ideally from a consultancy company or alternatively from the energy or energy supplier industry, where you were responsible for the international business development activities, and successfully closed deals together with your team.

You will be responsible for the international portfolio
You will be overall responsible for the pipeline and project portfolio internationally, and have the commercial responsibility for the development of the area.

Together with the Vice President you will set the direction and the team assisting you in implementation and execution of the strategy. You will be both in the driver's seat and at the same time be the key person frontline in the market and at clients pursuing and developing opportunities internationally.

Your main areas of responsibility will be to:

  • Developing an accelerated growth strategy and go-to-market approach for consultancy services within biomass and WTE internationally
  • Lead the international portfolio team to implement and execute the strategy
  • Be frontline within the business development in the market and at clients
  • Responsible for developing and maintaining partnerships and alliances.

Business development profile who can lead frontline
Your experience within business development is reflected in the way you interact with accounts, partners and your colleagues. You have a natural drive and get your energy and motivation, when you are in interaction with clients and pursue opportunities. You encourage a team spirit in the joint efforts of achieving the business goals for the portfolio.

Bioenergy and Thermal Power has offices in Lyngby, Odense, Vejle, Aarhus and Aalborg. Internationally, we are supported by COWI subsidiaries in many regions. We have projects in many parts of the world with a main focus on Scandinavia, Africa, China, Asia and Eastern Europe.
