About Automotive Catalysts

Our technologies enable on-road and non-road applications, as well as power generation and process industry to meet environmental standards around the world. Our products have prevented billions of tons of harmful gases and particles being released into the atmosphere. To enable our customers to produce even cleaner engines and further reduce industrial emissions, we cannot stand still. We need to find new ways to do things, discover new solutions and develop new ideas. That's where you come in.

What you will be doing
We offer a challenging position in our Automotive R&D Department at Umicore Denmark where 50 engineers and technicians are working on the development and optimization of heterogeneous catalysts and catalytic processes for the cleaning of exhaust gases from power plants, refineries, the chemical industry and diesel vehicles in our environmental business area. Our department works closely with process design, production and sales and marketing.
As Research Scientist you will develop and prepare develope and prepare new catalyst formulations and production processes.

The job will include:

  • Participate in exhaust catalyst development projects
  • Optimize rheology of suspension and paints
  • Execute validation plans for our catalysts 
  • Support production sites with their case specific needs
  • Analyse, evaluate and present your results
  • Participate in collaboration and technical exchange with universities and research institutes

Who we are looking for
You are innovative and highly motivated to explore new ideas and have the discipline to bring your projects to the end. You like to work in a multi-national team and have the necessary communication skill.

Ideally, you hold a PhD in Chemistry, Chemical Engineering or equivalent. Experience from the automotive industry, material science and catalysis will be considered an advantage. Excellent skills in written and spoken English are required. Danish is an asset, but no prerequisite.
