Then your next career move may be as Manager of Front-end Anaesthesia with Ambu.

In this newly established and challenging position, you will help set the pace for future innovation and ensure the knowledge and insight needed to develop the product of the future. Your focus will be on front-end development within the area of Anesthesia so that our anaesthesia products in the future will be at the forefront of innovation and secure the future success of Ambu in the interest of our users.

You will be part of an effective innovation culture with a tradition for fast completion of projects, which means that there will be a visible link between your results and Ambu’s growth. You will be manager of the Front-end Anesthesia team that focuses on products within Anesthesia as well as Emergency Care & Training. The team is part of the Front-end and Technology development, Anesthesia and Patient monitoring team, which covers development across all Ambu products that are not endoscopes. Your focus will be on product development and improvement for the future portfolio within Anesthesia and Emergency Care & Training. Our Global Innovation team consists of over 200 people and is located at our headquarters in Ballerup. We focus on developing new products and improving and maintaining our current products, combining technologies in new and innovative ways. This puts high demands on your skills and requires broad experience
 
Active involvement – from conceptual design to product validation
User driven innovation is in Ambu’s DNA which means that your engineers will participate in the interaction with doctors, customers and users of the products as a natural part of the innovation process, and you, as manager will have to enable and support this process.

Your main responsibilities will be:

  • To lead the team of Front-end development engineers within Anaesthesia 
  • To support the team in user driven innovation in a timely fashion 
  • Take the technical ownership of the Anaesthesia product portfolio
  • Coordinate resources and activities between Ambu's global Innovation sites, building up the product know-how and create a close relationship to our innovation colleagues and production site in Xiamen, China. 
  • Stakeholder management and coordination across various in-house functions including, but not limited to Marketing, RA, QA, Clinical, Production, Procurement 

Your team will consist primarily of mechanical engineers, responsible for the design, design control and production implementation. 

Your contact base will be broad, and you will collaborate with Ambu’s global organisation, all departments involved in product development projects and externally with users, knowledge centers and suppliers.

Experienced within medical device development
Ideally, you hold an educational background within mechanical engineering, material sciences, biomedical engineering or similar. You have at least 5 years of experience of developing medical devices, and 2 years experience in leading a team of development engineers. You have solid experience with plastic and mechanical construction, and will be able to spare with your team on the challenges that they may face. You are empathic, you care about the well being of others and you are able and curious to understand the perspective from other departs/functions/cultures. Your primary motivation is helping your team be the best that they can be. You understand that the management role is about your team, not you. Most likely, you are employed in a similar job within the medical device industry.

As a person you are self-motivated, committed and have a strong sense of responsibility towards your work. You are honest and straight forward, and prefer to talk about challenges to resolve them fast, rather than assume they will pass on their own in time, but at the same time you have great interpersonal skills and have a sense of the situation, which makes you thrive in global teams. You are a "do'er" and prefer to act on rather than theorize about problems.

Since we are a global company, you will be involved in cross-cultural collaboration. Consequently, it is a requirement that you are fluent in English and that you are able to communicate efficiently. Lastly, you thrive in a position that gives you the opportunity to travel approximately 20-30 days a year.
