For our Innovation Center in Hillerød, we are looking for a lead mechanical engineer with a “take charge” attitude to join our ambitious group of people in FOSS R&D. You will help us develop world leading instruments from concept design, through prototyping and until the final product is sales-released and well-functioning in the market. Being first and best takes something extra. We work at a high speed with highly skilled and motivated colleagues in multidisciplinary projects. It is challenging and fun - and requires highly proficient people with a proven track record of delivering high quality products.
You will get unique opportunities to work with all aspects of mechanical development both as mechanical developer and coordinator of the mechanical development in the project. You need to have a solid mechanical background where you can guide junior mechanical developers, coordinate tasks, challenge peers, have the courage to challenge the status quo but most of all to be a team player and help the team to deliver fantastic products.
As a lead mechanical engineer you will be responsible for the mechanical design in a project and this is where your focus will be. Besides that FOSS is a matrix organization and you will also be part of the mechanical group community, where both knowledge sharing and peer reviews are parts of our way of working.
The candidate You love mechanical product development and are not willing to give up your CAD work. At the same time, you have a strong mindset to take responsibility and leadership within all activities but you understand the balance of being involved and letting people work independently.
As a person, you are communicative, well structured, ambitious and a strong team player. You have a process oriented work approach and a positive mindset even when things challenge you and deadlines are tight! Finally, you must share our values and passion for mechanical and technology development with our customers in mind at a very high and challenging level.
To be our candidate you hold a degree in mechanical engineering and must be fluent in English. It is considered an advantage to understand Danish.
You have several years of working experience in the majority of the following fields:
- Multi-disciplinary product development from concept to launch
- Instrument design e.g. high precision flow systems
- 3D CAD (we use Autodesk Inventor)
- Planning, coordinating and communicating with many stakeholders
