Help us make life sound better

At our offices in Ballerup, we have a team of 2 materials specialists and an environmental compliance engineer dedicated to ensuring maximum durability, highest quality, and biological safety of all the materials with skin contact that go into our hearing aids.

“What we do in this team is not only incredibly important for the safety of users worldwide. It also makes a huge difference in terms of usability and experience,” says Director of Product Development Andreas Schousboe.

Drive biological evaluations from A to Z

With complete responsibility for conducting our biological evaluations, you will:

  • Plan biological evaluations to be performed
  • Initiate and coordinate analytical chemical and biological testing with external labs
  • Initiate toxicological assessments with external consultants if needed
  • Perform materials and process characterization
  • Produce reports and communicate results to relevant entities, such as R&D project and program managers
  • Prioritize efforts within the team by importance

Although responsible for these tasks, you will never be alone in the execution. We are also looking for a chemical engineer to support you in all processes while you provide mentorship and guidance.

Put your fingerprint on biological evaluation at GN Hearing

Where some aspects of biological evaluation used to be outsourced, we are now bringing it all in-house. As such, many processes are yet to be defined. As our lead chemical engineer and central expert on biological evaluation, you will drive the crucial development of this area.

“We are looking to define new internal procedures, improve the management of biological adverse events, and build great partnership with industry partners, such as labs and universities. These are just some of the areas where your knowledge, creativity, and ideas can truly be put to good use,” Andreas explains.

Polymer chemistry expert

Being systematic by nature, you know how to organize, prioritize, and delegate processes without losing track of deadlines. You are excited by the prospect of driving development within your area and passing on your knowledge to others.

Furthermore, you:

  • Are well-versed in acrylic polymer chemistry and biological evaluations (ISO10993 series), possibly from previous positions in R&D or manufacturing or through a PhD
  • Hold a master’s degree or PhD in chemical engineering or similarly relevant area
  • May have previous experience from the medical device industry, though it is not a must – knowledge of toxicology is also a plus
  • Are fluent in English
