And now we are expanding our Linux based Software Platform team to put even better cobots on the market.
Building our containerized software platform
As our new Software Platform Engineer, you will be joining our highly skilled and dedicated software platform team responsible for designing, developing and maintaining the containerization of our robot software platform beneath our cobot applications. The team is putting their Kubernetes skills to the test in meeting the requirements for the fast innovation that is deeply embedded in our DNA.
Your job in the team is to develop a high performing, low footprint containerization platform, on which to build our robot software. You are passionate about containerization and you take great pleasure in creating secure, optimized and lightweight Kubernetes orchestration. You are putting your problem-solving skills to the test day by day, with the rest of the team and you enjoy the challenge of thinking big in small computing environments.
With reference to the manager of the Software Platform team you will be working closely with the product manager, the tech lead and product designer for our robot software platform. You will also be collaborating with other teams to build and deploy our containerization orchestration to help our integrators and third-party developers create even better solutions for our customers.
Lightweight containers done right
We are looking for a highly skilled Kubernetes or K3S profile, preferably with a proven record of working with Linux as a platform for securely deploying and monitoring services and software. You may have a developer background, and you are well versed in the world of K8S you may already know K3S in and out, or you may want to learn more about it.
You don’t need to be proficient in all areas of containerization and need not know much about robots - yet. What matters most is your passion for optimization and ability to put your skills to good use - and learn more as you go. We will make sure you get the relevant information and training.
Skills and abilities
We expect that your work with Kubernetes and containerization is reflected in your experience in the following areas…
- Solid understanding of spinning up pods with Kubernetes - covering scripting, telemetry, security and resource management.
- Experience with Rancher K3S and lightweight low footprint containerization is of high value.
- Experience with Istio, Envoy, Helm and OpenID Connect are also of high value.
- Knowledge in setting up automated testing for scripted containerization deployment is a bonus.
- Fluent in written and spoken English is a requirement.
