We are looking for a new colleague to join our System development and Data Integration IT team to support diverse, research-related, IT development projects.

About the System development and Data Integration team
The System development and Data Integration (DNB-SDI) team consists of seven IT developers and database specialists. We support two departments at Statens Serum Institut: Danish National Biobank and the covid-19 TestCenter Denmark. In the last two years, our team is intensely involved in diverse covid-19 pandemic-related IT projects and tasks like data driven and service-oriented IT solutions, automated data flows, integrations for biomedical laboratories as well as generation of diverse data solutions, e.g. ETL packages, data extractions.

Job description
We are looking for new colleagues to support among others the following development projects:

  • Service oriented backend and frontend IT solutions supporting laboratory process and information management
  • Data solutions to support current covid-19 related research projects
  • Danish Biobank Register – a national search system providing an overview of biological samples stored in Denmark based on heterogeneous health- and biobank-related data sources
  • Consent-collection web application - supporting a research project within Horizon 2020 HEAP (Human Exposome Assessment Platform) project

The DNB-SDI team is located within the Danish National Biobank (DNB) and TestCenter Denmark (TCDK). DNB was established in 2012 at the Statens Serum Institut and is a research infrastructure within the Cluster of Research Centers launched by the Novo Nordisk Foundation. Our biobank is among the most advanced in the world and stores around 12 million samples of blood, tissue and other biological materials. TCDK was established in March 2020 as a large-scale, state-of-the-art diagnostic covid-19 PCR national laboratory to support the efforts related with the current global pandemic in Denmark. 

As the IT/data solutions developer your primary role will be to work on the above-mentioned projects and, depending on your qualifications, you may be involved in:

  • Development of web applications & (micro-) services
  • Implementation of data solutions (data extractions, ETL, stored procedures, etc.)  
  • Implementation of robot and data flow integrations
  • Design and implementation of relational databases.

Your professional and personal qualifications
You most likely hold a degree in an IT-related area or have practical experience in the field. Recent graduates are also welcome to apply. We expect you to have both passion for and experience in at least one of the following areas:

  • .NET / C# / ASP.NET / Core / Razor Pages / Blazor
  • SQL (preferably T-SQL) / SSIS
  • Scripting languages (PowerShell, Python, etc.)
  • Power BI / Power Pivot
  • CSS / JS / jQuery / HTML.

You are a dedicated team player, with the ability to work in a dynamic environment. You speak either fluently English or Danish.

Terms of employment
Depending on your educational background, salary and other appointment terms will be based on either

The collective agreement between the Danish Ministry of Finance and the Danish Confederation of Professional Associations (AC) (overenskomst for akademikere I staten). Depending on your academic qualifications and experience there is a possibility of being classified as a special or senior consultant according to appendix 4 (protocol concerning special- and senior consultant).

or

The organizational agreement between the Danish Ministry of Finance and the Organization for Salaried Employees HK/Stat (Organisationsaftale for kontorfunktionærer, laboranter og it-medarbejdere (HK)), according to chapter 5 in the agreement and the collective agreement between the Ministry of Finance and the Organization of Public Employees (OAO-S-Fællesoverenskomsten).
