As member of IT Infrastructure Development and Architecture you will be a part of a department that is responsible for the IT infrastructure on a global scale. Your responsibility as IT Infrastructure Virtualization Architect will predominantly be in the area of designing, implementing and maintaining a virtual end user computing (EUC) environment, currently based on Citrix XenApp and VMware Horizon.

Besides the technical responsibilities it is also expected that you will create and maintain a governance model incl. service descriptions, cost models etc. for the virtual EUC concept.
Furthermore you should expect some degree of 3rd level support for the area.
Finally you will also be expected to participate in the area of general VMware related tasks for the virtual server environment e.g. maintenance of the platform, major upgrades, new installations and intake on new services etc.

You will become part of an international department of highly experienced & skilled infrastructure architects and specialists, located mainly in Europe. You will be working closely together with other infrastructure specialists as well as colleagues from the application areas within IT.
You will be the key responsible person for driving the development and implementation of the Virtual desktop and application platform. This includes analysis of how services can be migrated from the XenApp platform onto the Horizon platform.
Since not all services can be migrated immediately you should expect to become responsible for a dual vendor setup consisting of Citrix XenApp and VMWare Horizon. The operation of XenApp is currently outsourced but the architectural ownership still resides internally and you should expect to participate in 3rd level troubleshooting across the stack.
