IoT Software Engineer for unique 3D printer technology company
For our client XAAR 3D in central Copenhagen, we are looking for an enthusiastic software engineer, who will join a small but highly competent, driven, innovative and experienced team.
You will play a key role establishing the IoT infrastructure for their 2nd generation and high-speed 3D printer based on world-leading piezoelectric drop-on-demand inkjet technologies. This exciting company XAAR 3D innovates 3D printing; moving from prototyping into production printers.
Your main responsibility will to manage the 3D printers communication with the outside world.
- Automatic collection of large amounts of data from a fleet of online devices
- Building database infrastructure, including analysis tools for diagnostics and failure prediction
- Developing the necessary interfaces to provide access to the database for engineers
- Assisting the development & engineers internally whenever more advanced data analysis is required
- Implementing and documenting machine communication standards, e.g. MTConnect
These tasks may also include web interface and API development, machine learning techniques and/or On-Printer-Software related to diagnostics and data-collection.
You have an M.Sc. degree in i.e. Computer Science, Maths, Physics or Electronic Engineering and preferably some years of experience in data-collection in the Cloud, Network Technologies & Security, Data Science and/or similar.
We expect you to have solid experience in some of the following technologies:
- Amazon Web Services
- IT security
- Balena or similar
You will have a rather large flexibility as regards which tools and technologies to use. Your own recommendations are welcome and will be discussed with the software team.

You are passionate about what you do. You give excellent attention to detail, whilst still having an appreciation for the bigger picture, having great analytical skills. You have the ability to work independently as well as with a team, and you have the drive to find solutions to complex problems.
Working as part of an international company with a multicultural team of approx 15 colleagues in Copenhagen, you will need to be fluent in written and spoken technical English.
