Daily life as a User Experience Intern
As a User Experience Designer Intern, you will become part of a team of UX and UI designers working together on a range of Defence-related products. On joining the team, you will assist with the tasks while receiving the necessary professional sparring and feedback. In so far as possible, you will be able to plan your own working day, and we make every effort to strike the right balance between your personal wishes, your formal study requirements and our expectations. The most important thing for us is that you learn a lot, enjoy your time at Systematic, and that you find the job to be a rich opportunity for professional and personal development.

Responsibilities and tasks
As a Systematic Intern, you will have the opportunity to apply your knowledge about usability, people, and technology. You can, for example, expect to work with:

  • creating low and high-fidelity prototypes;
  • maturing UX prototypes, including hand-over to the development team;
  • validating UX during feature implementation, with a special focus on quality and user-friendliness;
  • assessing and raising UX issues identified on existing functionality;
  • exploring possibilities for UX concepts for new business ideas;
  • improving the written documentation for internal and external use (such as design system documentation and user manuals).

Minimum qualifications:

  • You are currently studying for an MSc degree in UX Design or relevant programme.
  • You have experience with prototyping tools such as Axure, Figma or Adobe XD.
  • Bring your skills into play

Throughout your internship, the focus will be on developing your skills:

  • You have a proactive mindset and are curious by nature.
  • You are prepared to take the leap into a complex domain and software.
  • As a designer, you can translate complicated problems into simple solutions.
  • You take the initiative, and are prepared to suggest improvements and changes.
  • You have a flair for communicating ideas and concepts to stakeholders and through written documentation.

Become part of a strong culture
From day one, you will be assigned a tutor and a mentor who will equip you for the tasks in the team, and you will receive ongoing sparring in connection with your development during your internship. In addition to your team, you will be part of an Intern network with the other Interns at Systematic. During your internship, you will be able to participate in various social events that enable you to get to know your fellow Interns better and exchange experiences. You will also have every opportunity to develop a network across the organisation thanks to the Systematic Employees Club, where passionate employees organise various social activities for everyone. Systematic pride itself on having a corporate culture where it should be fun going to work.

Practical information:

  • This is a paid internship if your studies allow it.
  • The internship lasts five to six months, starting in August 2023.
  • The internship will be a full-time position, but we are flexible in relation to your studies and ECTS points requirements.
  • When applying, please include your CV as well as your exam certificates.
  • We will be assessing job applications as we receive them, as we are keen to fill the position as soon as possible.
  • If you have any questions, you are always welcome to contact us on tel. +45 8943 2000 and ask for Sebastian Højholm, UX Designer.
  • We work on security-classified projects, and as a Systematic employee, you must be able to obtain a security clearance. This means that you must, as a minimum, have a clean criminal record, and have lived in a NATO/EU country for the last seven years.
