Become a part of the Flow Laboratory in Kamstrup
Kamstrup is one of the world's leading manufacturers of intelligent metering solutions for energy and water consumption. As an intern, you will become part of the Flow Laboratory team in the Group Quality Department, where you will be included on equal footing with engineers and researchers who are dedicated to ensuring the highest accuracy of our water- and heat meters. The team consists of 6 engineers and physicists and together we maintain and improve the test rigs that are used to verify the meters, while conducting long term research on fluid dynamics.

An internship that will push the company forward
Kamstrup produces thousands of flowmeters for water- and energy consumption on a daily basis, and every single one of them is tested on a flow bench. The flow benches are very advanced machines that interact with the meters, their programming and the production databases. The complexity of the flow bench and the mathematical calculations used calls for a robust inhouse software. To improve the software to meet new demands, we want to create an environment that emulates the test rig hardware and all its interactions, to debug and verify new versions of software before they are used in real production. The software verification is the primary object of this internship, but depending on your interests and skills, it will also be possible to work with predictive maintenance, performance optimization, etc.

More specifically, your tasks will include:

  • Investigating how the complex interaction of hardware and software in the flow bench can be simulated
  • Creating a digital twin simulator that will reproduce the key functions of the test rig, thus allowing for accurate and fast testing of the control software
