Internship with focus on CAD process development

At MAN Energy Solutions we develop very large multi fuel engines for large cargo ships and power plants. The engines weight up to 2500 Ton. We are marked leaders in the segment. At the moment we run a project with the goal of increasing the product quality and work efficiency by optimizing of our CAD design process. For that, we need a creative student that is able to work in an environment with a high degree of freedom and a little degree of control together with top motivated engineers.

In our engineering design department, we apply for a student for a 20 weeks engineering internship.

The job
As internee, your main focus is to support designers by investigating various possibilities to improve their efficiency.

Furthermore, you will:

• Training of you skills will be in focus the first period.
• Investigate if we are utilizing our CAD systems functionality to full extend
• Suggest new ways to utilize standard and advanced functionality
• Suggest and specify development of new supportive tools
• Assist in training of designers within your area of investigations

Qualifications
The candidate must have special interest in CAD modelling, be focused when exploring new methods and must be able to communicate findings to the project members.

We know that you as the right candidate already have good CAD skills but in the beginning of your internship you will be given a specific training course in Siemens NX CAD to raise your level in order to make you confident in the project group and learn about special topics that is required for the project.

Your new team
Our engineering department that has the responsibility to make design work of the complete engine, customer support and documentation for our customers in Japan, Korea and China. We are creative and service minded and are dedicated to make products of the highest quality. You will be seated in a team consisting of 5 engineers and 5 technicians and one other student.
