It is an opportunity for a unique learning experience and a chance to turn theories into practice.
About the department
The Department of Bioinformatics and Data Mining combines strong computational skills with biological insights through the integrative analysis of internal and external biomedical data. Our analytical expertise spans a wide range of areas, from sequence analysis, many different omics, pathway analysis, to text-mining.
We contribute to all aspects of pre-clinical research projects at Novo Nordisk, where we act as bioinformatics and data analysis experts and participate in external collaborations with academic and biotech partners. Our work results in real impacts on new medicines for highly important diseases of unmet medical need.
As part of the internship, you will work with and be introduced to important areas of integrative analyses of diverse datasets (e.g. RNA-seq, proteomics, and disease genetics) to discover and validate novel drug targets and biomarkers, identify who is most likely to benefit from these novel treatments, and help elucidate molecular mode-of-action of new drug targets as well as increase understanding of disease mechanisms. You will work closely with scientists in our team to add value to pre-clinical drug discovery projects.
As such you will have the creative mindset and skills to make most of the available data, by ana-lyzing experimental results to suggest and design the next experiments in collaboration with scientists across the whole organization.
You will be comfortable with working in a dynamic, interdisciplinary environment, and are able to clearly communicate your results to scientists with diverse backgrounds.
- Internship period: 6 months
- Working hours: Flexible (min. 18 and max. 37 hours a week)
- Start date: 15 November 2021
- Internships are remunerated if your educational track allows
- A Danish full-time work permit is required
