What is the job about?
SafeWater is a strategic business unit in sales, focused on providing water for the most water poor communities. We partner with NGOs, private and public sector colleagues around a shared vision to bring sustainable water to some of the most water poor communities. Our philosophy and way of working builds on “everything it takes to get water to everyone”. 
In the role as SafeWater intern, you will be working closely with our team in Bjerringbro, Denmark and support our activities taking place in our priority markets, primarily in Africa and the Middle-East.

For the duration of this internship you will be helping our Partnership Manager with the continuous development of our project pipeline as well as managing existing projects. Furthermore, you will be supporting our Global Key Account Manager on NGO related activities such as coordinating customer events and local training curriculums. 

We are looking for a person who is independent, self-motivated, systematic to join our multi-cultural team of 19 people with a high energy level and a passion for developing solutions that will bridge the gap between affordability and commercially viable water services.

Specific tasks 
The main tasks to be completed are:

  • Updating a mapping of financing mechanisms available for water access and assessing them in terms of relevance, resources available, partnership      requirements, risks for Grundfos, next call for proposals, and conditions of financing 
  • Supporting the Partnership Development Manager in submitting proposals for financing of new projects
  • Supporting the Partnership Development Manager in submitting reports to financing partners
  • Project coordination and organising of Grundfos contribution to partner training curriculums and partner events
  • Gathering content for case stories and stories from our partners
  • Supporting the other workstream leads with tasks they define as requiring support for, subject to availability
  • Any other tasks identified by members of SafeWater that can be accommodated.

Key competencies

  • Master of Social Science student or similar. 
  • Experience of working in developing countries is an advantage but not a pre-requisite.
  • Exceptional verbal, written and presentation skills.
  • Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
  • Competency in Microsoft applications including Power Point, Word, Excel, and Outlook. 
  • Knowledge of file management, resource planning and other project management procedures.
  • Ability to work on tight deadlines.
  • Fluent in English.

Period of contract: 6 months 
Reporting to: Senior Director SafeWater with day-to-day supervision from the Partnership Development Manager and the Global Key Account Manager.
Start date: 1st March 2022 (possibility for earlier start)
Basis of contract: Unpaid internship
