Integration Project Engineer - the Danish Signalling Programme

We are looking for a new colleague, an Integration Project Engineer, to join us in the Onboard Project - a project overseeing the installation of new signal technology onboard of the trains (the rolling stock fleet).
The Onboard Project is part of the Signalling Programme, which is the largest of its kind in Europe. The programme is fully engaged replacing the old railway signals with European Railway Traffic Management System (ERTMS), Level 2, Baseline 3 technology. This makes Denmark the first country to implement ERTMS on a national scale.
You will work closely with both the Project Manager and the Installation Discipline Team Lead. You will also work together with some of the best international experts and as well as participate in international project forums.

The position is located in Copenhagen, though you should expect some travel activity to different locations in Denmark - on average three times a month.
Responsibilities and tasks
As Integration Project Engineer, you will ensure that the installation design produced by our supplier fulfills the contractual requirements and is acceptable for the rolling stock owners. The task requires:

  • Supporting our supplier to perform surveys on trains
  • Reviewing installation design documents
  • Collecting comments from rolling stock owners and following up on supplier answers
  • Supporting our Safety and Approval Team in order to build safety approval application files
  • Active participation in technical working groups.

You will also be monitoring planning and quality of the onboard equipment installation made by the supplier, including

  • Attending workshops where the installation is done
  • Ensuring that our supplier complies with installation procedure and quality standards
  • Recording any deviations and follow-up on their closure.

You will also be working with design specifications, preparation for installation and test as well as verification both in details, on system level and on conceptual level.
For you to be the right candidate...
You hold a degree in Engineering (transport, electronic, production, mathematics, biomedical or similar), you have experience with rolling stock/railway systems or railway operations, and ideally you have knowledge of ERTMS. As our office language is English, you master English at a professional level, written as well as spoken.
On a personal level, you enjoy working in a multinational work environment where you collaborate with colleagues with many different backgrounds.
In your line of work, you know that challenges arise and you easily find the simple path through complex issues - without losing your good spirit along the way. You are independent, energetic and persistent towards all internal and external stakeholders, and you manage to support both projects and management in order to make the right decisions on time.
You will be employed in relation to the current labour agreement and your salary is settled based on your experiences and qualifications.
