Are you able to lead medical device development projects in a global setup? Do you have experience managing development of embedded systems? And do you have a strong system understanding? Then we have an exciting job opportunity.

Ambu’s display units (SW/HW) are being used in conjunction with our single-use endoscopes for treatments and diagnostics in the airways, gastrointestinal and urinary tracts, among others. Our singe-use technology is crucial to avoid cross-contamination and help doctors saving lives every single day. The Display Units are playing a major role in delivering high quality images and image processing to support the doctors in delivering superior patient care.

To keep our position as market leaders, we are currently looking for a creative and experienced, project manager to head our future development projects. 
You will be a part of the Innovation Project Management team within Global Innovation where your primary focus will be to lead cross-functional project teams who are developing and releasing software and hardware for our existing and upcoming platforms.

Global, user-driven innovation – from idea to launch
As Innovation software Project Manager, you will be a key player in releasing display units software/ hardware upgrades and new platforms to support the launch of our innovative new endoscopes. We work according to an Ambu developed  phase-gate model, which we call the Product Innovation Process. At Ambu the agile culture is integrated in our daily work. Our work includes a high degree of user and customer involvement and a part of the job is therefore to meet the medical professionals at their locations in operating rooms, intensive care units or pre-hospital settings.

As project manager for a display unit, you will drive complex projects and facilitate collaboration with a wide range of stakeholders (specialist within Clinical, Regulatory, risk management, HW, SW, algorithm development etc.. ), while maintaining alignment with other endocscopes projects. As a project manager you will be assigned a Sponsor team (a project specific team of 4 cross-functional managers that guides and supports you and the project) to coach the decision process, help steer the project in the right direction etc.. 

Experience with project management in the medical device industry
It is key that you: 

  • Are able to use your solid understanding of embedded systems in a regulated environment. 
  • Have a track record in leading cross-functional teams. 
  • Have experience in managing development project within HW and SW.
  • Have a strong understanding and practice of design control and Agile pratices is recommended.

As a person you are self-motivated, committed, structured and have a strong sense of responsibility towards your work and your team members. You are open-minded and you use your great interpersonal skills in your daily work to drive the projects and motivating the project team members. 
You probably hold a degree in engineering and >5 years of solid experience within medical device project execution. 
It is a requirement that you are fluent in oral and written English and that you thrive in a position that gives you the opportunity to travel 10-15 days per year.
