Do you want to take on the challenge of doing an industrial PhD while being employed with us?

Join us as a SCADA Engineer in the SCADA department and become part of our group of skilled SCADA engineers, and do an industrial PhD with us. We’re responsible for planning, designing and purchasing the complete SCADA systems, protection components, OT network and radio communication for on and offshore substations for our offshore wind farms.

Project description
We have the pleasure of announcing a new industrial PhD project together with DTU. Under this project, you’ll be enrolled for three years as an industrial PhD student at the Department of Electrical Engineering and the Department of Photonics Engineering under the Danish industrial PhD programme, and you’ll be employed with us. The project is part of a wider collaboration between Ørsted and DTU concerning solutions for the optimised design, dimensioning and utilisation of transmission systems. In particular, the project is about reducing invested capital and operating expenditures while optimising cybersecurity of the wind farm OT system. The part you’ll mainly be involved in is SCADA component and OT network topology and function optimisation.

Your competences include that you

  • have a relevant master’s degree in electrical engineering with specialisation in automation or IT/OT
  • have achieved excellent grades on your master’s programme, as a prerequisite for enrolment as a PhD student at DTU
  • preferably have professional skills based on relevant working experience within SCADA and OT network components
  • preferably have experience from automation and IT/OT research
  • speak and write English fluently, as we’re an international company and cooperate closely with our colleagues abroad.

You’ll perform cross-disciplinary work and cooperate with colleagues and external partners at both Ørsted and at DTU, and it’s therefore essential that you thrive in teamwork. You have personal drive combined with both an analytical and a responsible approach to your work. Furthermore, you’ll share your knowledge internally as well as externally with other researchers as part of your PhD studies.
