Human Factor Specialist working with new rail IT

Do you want to work with Human Factor and usability within future rail IT solutions?  

We are hiring a Human Factor (HF) Specialist with good technical skills to carry out user interface design processes, review supplier documentation as well as undertake HF standards and guidelines – among other things.

The Danish Signalling Programme, as the largest of its kind in Europe, is fully engaged replacing the old signalling system on the Danish railway with European Railway Traffic Management System (ERTMS) – a new computer-based signalling technology. Replacing the system on the entire railway makes Denmark the first country to implement ERTMS on a national scale. The project is supported by an international supplier base and consultants from across Europe.  

Your primary place of work will be in our newly built head office in central Copenhagen.

Human Factor Specialist
As HF Specialist you will be coordinating HF assessments, including involvement of end-users of the Traffic Management System (TMS).

You will produce HF test reports with focus on consequences of HF issues, detailing gaps compared to HF principles and requirements and detailing necessary actions.

You will provide the relevant input and support management in creating and continuously refining human factors and usability improvement strategies. You will also coordinate the TMS user interface design related to HF via SCRUM to improve user guidance and feedback, thereby increasing efficiency and business benefits.

Documentation, processes and tasks
It is central to establish and maintain HF related processes and review supplier documentation for compliance to Human Factor integration plans and standard HF practice.

You must assist in wider process verification and validation activities as required and conduct task analyses to identify process inefficiencies and demonstrate human error traps.

Academic, technical background and Human Factor experience
You have an academic background with a technical angle, and you have experience handling technical documentation.

Ideally you have experience with user interface design processes, particularly in complex and multi-disciplinary and multi-cultural environments. Furthermore, it is an advantage if you have experience with HF standards and guidelines and knowledge of safety case processes with relevance to HF work. We also consider your abilities with training analysis and how HF is affected.

On a more personal level, we are looking for a team player who is persistent, pragmatic, flexible and able to cope with uncertainty and change. The role includes communicating with many different nationalities – colleagues, suppliers, and customers. Our working language is English, written and spoken.

You will be employed in relation to the Circular on the Collective Agreement concerning Academics in the state sector concluded between the Ministry of Finance and AC (the Danish Confederation of Professional Associations).
