Become part of the IP team in Kamstrup
Kamstrup is one of the world’s leading manufacturers of intelligent solutions within energy and water consumption with production, administration and development gathered at the headquarter in Stilling, south of Aarhus. We are looking into an exciting future with increased activity, and following the departure of the incumbent we are seeking a Head if IP for our IP team.

With direct reference to our Vice President, General Counsel you will become the manager of our IP team and part of the Commercial & Legal Services management group. You will be responsible for all intellectual property related activities across the company, including protection of patents, trademarks and trade secrets. Therefore you will work closely together with both internal and external stakeholders in order to provide the IP services necessary to secure Kamstrup’s investment in new technologies. In your daily work, you will integrate with highly professional and motivated employees jointly focusing on quality and excellence.

A job with focus on IP activities and patent portfolio
As our new Head of IP you will manage and build our IP portfolio to support Kamstrup’s overall business objectives, including capturing of ideas and innovation across the company. You will be the strategic advisor in IP matters to Kamstrup’s top management, research and development organization and business units. Moreover you will be responsible for the continuous development of our IP strategy to meet changing business needs and for increasing IP awareness across the company.

More specifically, your main responsibilities will be to:

  • Manage the IP-team and outside resources
  • Evaluate and decide whether or not to protect IP based on technical and commercial inputs
  • Advise the business on freedom-to-operate matters and appropriate strategies for infringement avoidance
  • Draft and prosecuting patent application
  • Manage IP disputes globally and opposition and appeal cases before the European and overseas patent offices
  • General IP counseling and support in relation to contracts, collaboration, licensing and other IP relevant agreements

Personality matters
We expect that you have a technical degree on master level in e.g. physics, electronics, mechanical engineering or computer sciences. Additionally, you have minimum 5 years of working experience in Intellectual Property and preferably a qualified Patent Attorney with inhouse experience. You have a strong people management experience and excellent analytical and intellectual capabilities.

In order to succeed you must have a structured approach and be capable of prioritizing in order to meet deadlines. It is crucial that you are dedicated, proactive and that you are able to identify and explore opportunities. You process excellent relationship building, influencing and negotiating abilities and you master to communicate at all levels of the organization. You refuse to compromise on the quality in your work and hence you have high demands for both yourself and others. You are ready to make a difference in your daily work and you take pride in working with professional solutions distributed worldwide.

You are fluent in English - both oral and written. Danish is an asset.
