Cadeler is the global partner in offshore wind farm construction and maintenance. We are part of an industry that is now, more than ever, both relevant and in high demand. We are now looking for a Head of Department/Project Engineering Manager who will oversee installation and transportation projects engineering for offshore wind monopile foundations.

What we can offer
This is a fantastic opportunity for an ambitious candidate interested in pursuing a career in a growing engineering function. You will be at the forefront of the new team for foundations transportation and installation, and be responsible for leading and coordinating the execution of offshore wind turbine foundation installations.  

Your tasks will also include:

  • Providing leadership, direction, and structure for your team members in the engineering team within a project structure, including, drawing office and document control 
  • Establishing and leading the engineering management scope of work for the WTG foundations construction projects, as well as coordinate with the project engineering team, package managers, subcontractors, and clients on engineering and technical issues
  • Having responsibility for the engineering scope of work is in line with client contractual requirements, company and industry standards and legislation
  • Proactively contributing to the development of internal processes, guidelines, and standards for the offshore wind turbines foundations construction
  • Ensuring that the assigned project engineering budget and schedule of engineering is consistent with all project procurement activities, package, and fabrication
  • Representing Cadeler towards clients, subcontractors, and other organisations
  • Ensuring quality control and assurance of the engineering process for the execution of the project
  • Taking a leading role in technical design review, HAZID/HAZOP and lessons learned sessions

First assignment will be related to the installation of monopile type foundations with our new state of the art F-class vessel and other supporting vessels.

To succeed in this role 
As a successful candidate, you will set high standards while feeling comfortable in handling numerous tasks simultaneously and effectively deliver on a wide variety of assignments. The position requires high versatility in the problem solving and engineering scopes, requiring a strong teamwork mindset in reaching out all relevant competences in-house or externally.

We think you will be a good match if you have some of the following competencies:

  • Experience as a Project Engineering Manager for offshore construction, delivering multi-discipline engineering scopes to projects and interfacing with various internal and external stakeholders
  • Experience within offshore renewables and foundations construction projects, including onboard construction vessels during operations
  • Experience in risk identification and commercial negotiations, working with clients and subcontractors.
  • Proven track record in working within time and budget constraints, and ability to develop safe and cost-effective solutions
  • A relevant Bachelor or master’s degree in civil engineering, mechanical engineering, maritime engineering
  • Fluency in English with excellent communication skills
  • Comfortable with standard software packages such as Outlook, MS Office and AutoCAD
