Did you know that a Bone Anchored Hearing Solution is designed to convert sound into vibrations, which are then sent through your skull bone and directly on to your inner ear?

To do this requires the development of a custom made implant and vibrator, and a small external sound processor utilizing state of the art signal processing. If this piques your technical curiosity, then keep reading, as you may be the new Manager of our BAHS Electronics team.

In short you will:

  • Have a strategic and tactical responsibility for the electronics part of our Bone Anchored Hearing Systems (abb. BAHS) product portfolio by managing a team of 6.
  • Have an operational responsibility to ensure and contribute to the R&D projects alongside with your team.
  • Secure an optimal and smooth transfer from Research over Product Development to Operations, ensuring regulatory compliance according to medical standards
  • Secure support to released products

Now, why is that important to us? Well, our mission is clear: We want hearing impaired to be able to experience the sounds of life. This is the foundation for everything we do. This is what drives us and keeps us focused on innovation and efficiency. We want to develop the world’s best hearing healthcare solutions. Nothing less.

We venture beyond what is technically possible
In Oticon Medical we are committed to improve the quality of life of profoundly deaf patients. We develop implantable medical devices which requires custom IC’s, development of our own transducers, custom wireless solutions and tailormade electro acoustic solutions. If you have managed development of similar electronic products for many years and crave something new, then we would like to hear from you.

We are an international team and we speak English as standard. We support each other and constantly share feedback and knowledge to improve our results. We work in multisite teams, located across Denmark, France and Sweden, therefore some travel activity between the sites must be expected.

Image of your everyday
To paint how a typical work day would look like is tough.

Every day is different, but this is what we picture it to be like:
You are part of the hardware management group consisting of 5 hardware managers positioned across 3 sites. Your job will be to elevate the tactical planning of electronics development alongside supporting the current product platforms in full development life-cycle together with the other managers. You will especially work close with the other Electronics manager situated in Vallauris in France.

The majority of your day, you will be with your team of 6 electronic and electro-acoustic developers and key stakeholders ensuring progress on projects and participating yourself on selected projects as a playing coach.

We strongly believe that the best results comes from a fruitful team effort, which means that it should come natural to you to guide, grow, and show the team the direction. You consider yourself as “the go-to” in all aspects of electronics, RF, and electro-acoustic design, while still focusing on ensuring regulatory compliance.

Bringing your expertise and your new perspectives, insights and ideas are the cornerstones of our success, and we encourage you to think out of the box and structure your work with a high level of freedom.

Our picture of the “Go-to”
Your approach is to deal with challenges with a positive attitude and a smile; a trait we encourage in our company. You are capable of handling uncertainties, and from time to time situations under pressure. We provide a dynamic working environment where adapting to new situations is vital.

Furthermore, you have relevant experience managing a team of electronics developers or leading similar projects from definition to hand-over. This enables you to set a clear direction, achieving your results by leading and motivating others. You are perceived as the one your team turns to.

You have been exposed to working cross-functional; working closely with Quality, and Operations as well as external stakeholders. Your approach is constructive, structured and systematic and you make an impact through clear communication.

So, you are likely to hold a bachelor or master’s degree in engineering or similar relevant background.
