A position as Hardware Design Engineer working with technology that improves the life quality of millions of hearing impaired people worldwide, where you will be challenged by getting complex radios and electronics in compact designs to hit the users need. You will be joining a dynamic team of dedicated and experienced multi-disciplined engineers that are developing the next generation hearing aid accessory devices in the Global Research and Development organization at Widex HQ.

Your Responsibilities
As Hardware Design Engineer you will have the responsibility of designing and verifying the electronics in the next generation devices. You will be a part of the development process from the early phases where you’ll conduct feasibility studies and define the product specifications to designing and maturing the solution and finally verifying the design.

Your focus will be the design of the circuit boards in the devices, with IC’s developed by Widex, Bluetooth radios, sensors, microphones, power supply, antennas etc.

Some of your daily tasks as a Hardware Design Engineer are:

  • Design of the electronics - including e.g. component selection, schematics and layout
  • Development and application of simulation models for circuit boards and components.
  • Simulation of device performance according to regulatory requirements.
  • Collaboration with other engineering disciplines and production to find the optimum solutions for the device design
  • Test and verification
  • Design control and documentation

You will be working in a dynamic environment, where contributions from many different stakeholders and professions need to align to develop the best possible products for our customers. The development team includes mechanical engineering, User Experience design, embedded SW, RF and other HW design engineers and covers all aspects of the device development. You will be participating both as a specialist in your field and as a generalist when complex problems need solving.
You should expect 5-10 traveling days pr. year.

You

  • You have an electronics engineering degree, and ideally you have practical experience within some of the following areas:
  • Design and layout of small and efficient digital and analogue systems - preferably in Altium
  • BT/BLE radio implementation
  • Virtual Prototyping by any means necessary, incl. circuit and signal integrity simulation
  • Measurement and Verification of electronic performance
  • Documentation of design and test - preferably within compliance of medical device directive.

You are motivated by interaction between electronics, mechanics and software.
As a person, you have an innovative mindset and a structured approach to problem solving. You’re a team player but can work independently when required. You have a passion for electronic design and strive to deliver high quality, but you understand the need for trade-offs between quality and cost while meeting your schedule, and you like to show results.
