Do you want to join the largest offshore wind developer in the world and support the installation of the next generation of offshore wind turbine foundations?

Join us and become a Geotechnical Engineer in the Geotechnical Engineering department where you’ll be involved in a wide range of geotechnical activities in relation to planning, designing and constructing offshore wind farms. You’ll be part of a large and diverse team of 27 geotechnical engineers from more than 14 different countries.

Your key tasks will be to

  • perform detailed geotechnical design tasks, such as foundation design and complex soil-structure interaction analyses, using purpose-built or commercially available software packages
  • perform drivability analyses using in-house or commercially available software, providing input for foundation design and installation campaigns. This includes the preparation of detailed drivability reports and memorandums for approval by a certification body, including analysis of noise levels, fatigue damage during driving and pile buckling
  • assist in the development of in-house tools and R&D projects aimed at pushing the boundaries of geotechnical design for offshore wind turbine foundations
  • closely collaborate with people from different engineering disciplines within the Foundations group, e.g. structural, loads and installation departments, with the goal of executing state-of-the-art foundation design and collaboratively developing new foundation solutions.

As part of your role, you’ll be working on an array of projects, including large offshore wind farm developments, R&D projects (in collaboration with both internal and external parties) and in-house software development. You’ll take ownership of complex tasks and will be expected to actively engage in technical discussions and challenge the status quo.

Your competences include that you

  • hold a MSc or a PhD degree in civil/geotechnical engineering or equivalent
  • have a strong understanding of monopile (or jacket pile) installation and soil resistance to driving mechanisms. Previous experience with drivability analyses is desirable
  • possess good interpersonal and communication skills – being able to communicate in a confident and clear way to both peers and superiors
  • have experience with various software packages, e.g. MATLAB, GRLWEAP, etc.
  • speak and write English fluently.

Moreover, you have a positive, open-minded and result-oriented approach to your work and a personal drive to proactively suggest improvements within your area of responsibility. Additionally, you are able to work independently but also thrive on working closely together with your colleagues and business partners in a diverse and multicultural international environment.
