We are looking for a Frontend Developer to join to our talented Digital department with cross functional teams with UX/UI, Developers, Data Scientists, Frontends, Fullstack Developers and Product Owners. Specifically, you will be part of teams chasing cutting-edge business solutions on top of new technology platforms: Using algorithms, data modeling and artificial intelligence. We are rapidly digitizing Maersk Tankers along with the tanker and shipping industry, e.g., predicting the next cargos for our vessels, optimizing our pool partners experience, and lowering bunker consumption of all the vessels under our management. The role
We are a highly collaborative department with different skillsets. As our new Fullstack Developer, your key area and contribution to our combined efforts will include:

• Deliver iterative releases according to the agile methodology
• Be on top of current trends to impact the direction of the platform
• Super experienced in translating learnings from user research into the right design solutions
• Being a frontrunner of the team!

Our stack is Azure based, and we are all cloud, we use what we need, we don’t have a rigid framework of what we can use or do. We use and do what makes sense for us and enable us achieving our mission.  As a Developer in Maersk Tankers Digital, you have responsibility over the entirety of your app. We build it, run it, create our own DevOps and decide our own technologies and toolchains. 

We are creating solutions using Apache Spark, Python, Scala, Node.js, JavaScript, or whatever technology gets the job done. Our solutions are built on managed services in Azure (e.g., Azure Machine Learning, Azure Synapse, Kubernetes), and deployed using GitLab CI/CD and Docker - with scalability always in mind.
Our data storage technologies include Azure SQL, PostgreSQL, MongoDB, Parquet files and more. High throughput, batch processing, idempotency, low maintenance, disposability and reliability are properties we value in our data pipelines.

Our frontends are built using de facto frameworks and tools like React.js, TypeScript, Webpack, Babel, Auth0.

Your profile
Your educational background is not that important if you have a structured mindset, a good understanding of how digital products are built, and you preferably have a background within software development.  As a developer, you are comfortable working with cross-functional teams and have a deep understanding of agile methodologies. We appreciate someone who has the ideal solution in mind but also knows when to take the pragmatic approach. We expect you to be a fairly independent developer that is able to take an idea and turn it into working code, but also very crucial that you are able to work in a team.

In addition to the above, you have:

• Experience from similar positions within development
• Analytical and problem-solving skills
• Great communication skills and fluent in English
