Field Test Engineer

At MAN Energy Solution’s Test Centre in Frederikshavn, we are testing both our serial produced high-speed engines and GenSets, as well as our R&D prototype engines. We are looking for a new colleague in our team of 3 engineers to help us with Field Testing of our latest engine types and their components.
What are you going to do?
As Field Test Engineer, you will work on a variety of tasks concerned with validation of engines, GenSets and components, subsequent evaluation and reporting.
In particular, you will make plans for field tests and validation on sailing vessels, plan and carry out these field tests in cooperation with our customers on their engines . You will be in charge of preparing budgets for the inspections and also in charge of preparing and shipping parts.
All inspections and visits at customers have to be reported and knowledge sharing of the visits has to be done when returned.
In addition, you will communicate test planning and results to your colleagues in our design and service departments.
You can expect approximately 75 days of travel pr. year to our field test vessels for field test tasks and inspections. This includes also travels to our headquarter in Augsburg for knowledge sharing, where you are going to present test results.
Who are you?
We imagine that you are a Marine Engineer, Mechanical Engineer. It would be an advantage if you have a passion and basic knowhow for engines, engineering and automation systems, and have an open-minded and flexible approach to problem solving. Furthermore, we imagine that you are a team player who can add positively to our great team. You are curious, innovative, and persistent in the ways of reaching your goals.
How is your new team/area of business?
You will join a team of dedicated Engineers who spend their days performing R&D Tests, where you are going to help your colleagues in our Serial Production when they are in need of assistance in the test or assembly line. We ensure that our engines fulfill all legislations in relation to emissions and that they perform at the markets highest standards. We are also deeply involved in tests on new fuels and emission reduction technology. We are working in close corporation with our colleagues of the Design department in Augsburg, Germany.
