The Radiation Physics Division of DTU Nutech seeks applicants for the position of export engineer to join our Radiation Instrument Section (RIS).

The Radiation Physics Division carries out research, innovation and research-based consultancy in the fields of dosimetry, luminescence physics, and neutronics, with applications in geological and archaeological dating, radiation therapy and diagnostics, radiation processing, reactor physics and nuclear emergency preparedness.

The division presently consists of approx. 40 people including researchers, technicians and PhD students.

Over the past 35 years, RIS has developed specialized instrumentation to support the luminescence and dosimetry research activities at DTU and elsewhere; we hold a leading position as a supplier of instrumentation for retrospective luminescence dosimetry. In particular, we are constantly developing and improving the Risø TL/OSL reader (www.osl.risoe.dk) and other new instruments for luminescence and radiation measurement. This development is driven by the needs of our own researchers, as well as those from other institutions around the world; our innovations are made available to this wider community through our commercial activities.

Job description
The export engineer will provide an important link between RIS and its clients.

The successful candidate will be responsible for three main activities:

  1. sales-related customer relations
  2. securing and renewing orders and arranging delivery
  3. preparing export and other documentation required to enable a successful service to our clients

In particular, the successful candidate will be the main first point of contact for customers. He/she will prepare quotations, provide knowledgeable advice on instrumentation options and draft formal tenders. He/she will also schedule and arrange deliveries, organize shipping and arrange import licenses. The engineer will be responsible for sales quality control, documentation, financial summaries, prognoses, statistics etc.

Our expectations of you
The successful candidate is expected to have a background in global business engineering or similar. They will have the skills and background to enable them to provide (with appropriate training) technical advice to our customers of radiation instruments.

The successful candidate will also have excellent communication skills in both spoken and written English, be independent and self-motivated, and an active team participant with a systematic and organized approach to the work load. We expect a high level of professionalism from the successful candidate.

Candidates with previous sales and advisory experience will be preferred.

Salary and terms of employment
The appointment will be based on the collective agreement with the Confederation of Professional Associations. The allowance will be agreed with the relevant union. The place of work is DTU Risø Campus in Roskilde, Denmark.
