Do you have a strong technical background? Do you want to work with signalling systems of today and tomorrow, ensuring an efficient railway for a more sustainable society? Does collaboration and challenging projects appeal to you? Then we might have the right job for you.

Ramboll is working on some of the largest signalling projects, both locally in Denmark, but also internationally, and we expect to have even more projects in the years to come. Therefore, we are seeking several new colleagues. In our projects we are working with a wide variety of signalling technologies; spanning from the newer concepts for automated train control and traffic management systems as well as more conventional signalling and interlocking technologies.

Your responsibilities as signalling engineer
As signalling engineer in Ramboll you will be involved in a wide variety of projects and you will work independently as well as in multi-disciplinary and international teams on all project phases, from the early analysis to detailed design and commissioning. You will be working on both new systems and renovation, expansion and modernization of existing systems. In your projects you will work in close collaboration with colleagues within Ramboll, as well as validators, clients, and contractors.

Depending on the project your key responsibilities may include one or more of the items listed below:

  • Detailed design of signalling and interlocking systems
  • Preparation of technical documentation and drawings
  • Contribution to risk assessment and railway traffic analysis
  • Site supervision, tests and commissioning

You and your competencies
We imagine you have an electrical engineering degree or similar technical background, and have minimum 3 years of experience. Preferably, you have practical experience with signalling and interlocking systems or other types of automation systems.

You are responsible, focused and systematic. You are fluent in written and spoken English. You are eager to be where the action is. It is important that you can understand complex contexts and have a drive that makes you work proactively, solving your assignments with a high level of quality and observing deadlines. You have a solution oriented, cooperative and positive approach to your projects and appreciate working in an informal working environment, where you have a considerable influence on your own working day.

Join the Signalling department in Ramboll
You will be a very valuable team member in our Signalling department – one of five departments in the Rail division, placed at Ramboll headquarters in Copenhagen. Here you will be part of a professional, strong and committed Rail business community with 350 people, including a strong signalling environment with more than 120 traffic and signalling engineers working across Ramboll.

In the Signalling department we are currently heavily involved in the Danish Signalling Programme and other large, and complex signalling projects in the Nordic countries. As well as we continuously have several projects, and assignments both locally and internationally - with focus on relay based signalling systems, fully electronic systems, ERTMS Level 2/ETCS systems, and signalling systems for modern metro and light rail transport systems.
