Experienced Data Engineer

Do you like working with big data, being responsible for implementing and maintaining data architectures and building integrations to obtain data from the right sources?

Metroselskabet is looking for an experienced Data Engineer that can maintain and further develop our data lake while bringing together disparate sources to enable decision-makers.

You now can join the digitalization team, which is responsible for developing and maintaining user-friendly and efficient digital solutions. Responsibilities include working together as a team to develop and maintain new and existing data pipelines using a combination of data storage options and tools on Google Cloud Platform, such as Cloud Functions, BigQuery, Cloud Composer built on Apache Airflow and more. To configure the tooling, you will be using the infrastructure as code technology, Terraform. We encourage teamwork, shared responsibility across the team and learning together.

Previous experience with maintaining and developing a cloud-based Data Lake

As a person, you can tackle coding problems and relate architectural decisions/recommendations to business needs. You consider yourself experienced in cloud development and have previously used one or more cloud platforms professionally. You are flexible, ambitious, proactive and have an interest in implementing industry-best solutions. You are a team player and take responsibility in an environment with multiple stakeholders.

Professionally, you have experience with:

• Building data solutions using a cloud provider and exposing both structured and unstructured data sources for data scientist and analysts.
• Developing, monitoring, troubleshooting, error handling and productionizing data pipelines.
• Development in a professional environment, especially using Python and SQL.

The digitalization team is part of the Digitalization and Business Support unit (DBS), you will be part of a SCRUM team, using the agile development framework, working in sprints. If you are unfamiliar with SCRUM, we will teach you. We use Git as a version control and collaboration tool, we prefer you have experience using it.

Ideally, you have Experience using Google Cloud Platform or Terraform.
