The job
In Concept Development we have the responsibility to deliver first class concepts to all new solutions across our segments. We start our work in the market by meeting our customers, carry out analysis, make models in our labs and through tests and feedback create fantastic concepts ready for execution by our colleagues in R&D - enabling new business opportunities for FOSS.
Your role is to drive the work from initial business idea to a clear statement on what we need to develop and how - in close cooperation with stakeholders and enablers inside and outside Foss. Innovation is a key driver in Foss.
The tasks
As a concept developer you are allocated to one or more segments (see link) and have an active role in maintaining the segment product roadmap:
- Deliver integrated and approved concepts for new services and solutions
- Play an active and cross organizational role in all activities prior to the concept phase e.g. technology evaluation
- Identify and initiate de-risking activities e.g. POP-studies (proof of principle)
- Support the continued improvement of concept work processes e.g. tools and templates
- Be an active member of the concept development group
Apart from the dedicated segment support, we also have the responsibility to look across the roadmaps and identify commonality.
Personal profile
We are looking for a person having both a specific knowledge within one or more FOSS relevant areas combined with a broad and strong ability to collaborate across disciplines with experts in other areas.
The knowledge areas are:
- User research incl. market exploration
- Service design
- User experience design
- Customer experience design
- User Interface design
- Idea generation & development
- Model making
- Communication & facilitation
- Stakeholder & project management
- FOSS relevant technical skills e.g. optics, software, electronics or mechanics
Qualifications
- Relevant master degree (engineering and similar)
- Minimum 3 years of experience with product development
- Robustness - to fight for the best possible concept and get everyone on board
- A holistic mind-set
