Experienced CAD/CAM Systems Engineer
R&D Scanner Development - Copenhagen

Your profile
As our CAD/CAM Systems Engineer, you will have a key role in our new team and work closely with both R&D teams, enterprise customers and hardware suppliers on system specifications, documentation and tests. You will rely on your strong technical background (Master of Science, or similar, with good merits), and at least 3 years of experience with CAD/CAM systems, CNC machines and additive manufacturing. You have an affinity for software and will be using this skill when working with software APIs and setting up system tests. 

You are a good communicator (written and oral English) and recognize the value of clear communication and of reaching a good understanding with your stakeholders. You take pride in understanding both technical product details and the end-user’s perspective and you will use this understanding to shape superior solutions. You are adept at analyzing, optimizing and documenting technical solutions. You maintain a systematic approach to your work and have an eye for detail. You are inspired by technical challenges and your heart beats for quality!
Through your work, you will be able to influence a successful outcome of this strategic product area for 3Shape, as it closely aligns with our mission of providing superior patient care. You will also help to lift our team to a new level, in a sometimes chaotic and fast-paced workday, while still having fun!
The team consists of skilled specialists with mixed technical backgrounds and has representation from both R&D, Product Management and QA. You will refer to the Solution Manager.

Your Role
As our new CAD/CAM Systems Engineer you will work with input from both product owners, R&D key stakeholders, hardware suppliers and customer research.

The main tasks involve:

  • Being technical lead on customer projects incl.
        o Customer needs analysis and system scoping - in dialog with customer and 3shape development
        o Plan and facilitate system tests during development and early deployment phase
        o Participate in system deployment and acceptance tests
  • Providing manufacturing-specific design input and technical consultancy to software development teams
  • Being primary contact/interface to leading machine providers in CNC, additive manufacturing and part marking
  • Responsible for our machine interface documentation
