In Denmark, we employ approximately 2,200 employees shared among three locations: Copenhagen, Frederikshavn and Holeby. The SCM organization’s primary task is to secure full focus on the entire supply chain, and to strengthen the function, we are looking for a Expediting Specialist, who can uphold contact with suppliers to monitor the advancement of orders and equipment to ensure well-timed delivery of materials and/or projects. You are free to work from either our Copenhagen or Frederikshavn office as well as from your home office. What am I going to do?
As an Expediting Specialist you are expected to maintain contact with suppliers to monitor the progress of orders and equipment to safeguard timely delivery of materials and/or projects.
You will get the full responsibility of coordinating internally and externally whenever we encounter unforeseen challenges within our value chain; hence, you may have to travel from time to time. When not engaged directly in expediting measures you are working closely with 2 dedicated team members in the department on improving our performance within the Supply Chain.
As Expediting Specialist, your tasks are:
- Close collaboration with our internal stakeholders
- Maintaining continuous contact and focus on the strategic supplier base
- Maintain a working file of expediting related activities and documents.
- Evaluate production schedules and progress reports from suppliers to determine if the planning and work progress meet MAN ES requirements
- Some travel activity should be expected
Who are we looking for?
We are looking for a strong facilitator with extensive experience from either an engineering and/or -Supply Chain related field. You are expected to navigate at all levels of the organization – internally at MAN ES and externally at the supplier. Furthermore, we are looking for a candidate who is able to plan and organize his/her daily tasks with clear prioritization according to the current agenda within the department. Problem-solving and time management are key aspects of this role and you are expected to master both and communicate clearly, whenever these 2 responsibilities are out of sync as we work in a fast paced and deadline oriented work environment.
The ideal candidate has:
- A firm and consistent approach to the task at hand
- Good understanding of production processes
- Experience within LEAN
- Knowledge of Supply Chain basics and preferably experienced with SAP R/3
- Ability to work with engineering, order management and procurement team members
