About the Job
Calsep is in the process of adapting its software products to match the ongoing digitization in the energy sector. To assist with this transition, Calsep has a job opening at its head office in Lyngby for a flexible software developer ready to solve programming tasks with logically complex software. Calsep's software has until now primarily been used by specialists, but will through wizards and automated functions gradually be transformed into software that will enable engineers in general to perform specialized tasks. In collaboration with customers and external software vendors, the software is to be adapted to fit into workflows that also may include external software.
In an initial training period, the new employee will be given specific tasks related to data storage, development of new controls and reuse of existing ones. As the program structure and application of Calsep’s software becomes clearer, the employee will be involved in developing new applications and wizards. Because the software is used in applications that are critical for the end user, there are high requirements to robustness, and unit tests must be developed for each new application. The energy sector is undergoing extensive digitization, and over time, more tasks will be related to making Calsep's software available as cloud applications.
The right candidate will see it as an interesting challenge to make complex technical simulation options accessible for non-specialists. The educational background could be an M. Sc. in software engineering or another engineering discipline combined with some experience in coding technical software. Required skills are
- Experience with C# and object-oriented programming.
- Interest in coding of graphical user interfaces.
- Ability to convert a description of an engineering application to a software spec.
- Interdisciplinary communication skills.
- High level of abstraction.
Experience with DevExpress or other leading user control-sets for WinForms/WPF will be seen as an advantage as well as experience with C++.
Calsep offers a productive and international working environment, a competitive salary, flexible working hours and an attractive pension scheme.
