Are you interested in wireless communication systems? Are you eager to learn more about statistical analysis and data science? Do you want to try out your theoretical competences on existing wireless communication systems deployed at a customer? Are you interested in becoming part of an interdisciplinary R&D department with experienced and committed colleagues?

Become a part of the team investigating new wireless technology in Kamstrup
Kamstrup is one of the world’s leading manufacturers of smart metering systems for energy and water consumption. As intern in our R&D department within Wireless Communication, you will have a central role investigating emerging wireless technologies. You will be an integrated part of an interdisciplinary and multi-cultural department which consists of engineers and Ph.D.’s, where you will partake in the development of intelligent algorithms for performance evaluation and predictive maintenance in wireless smart metering systems. You will become part of a strong work environment, where you will experience that freedom with responsibility and personal development are in focus.

An internship with focus on concept development
During your internship you will be part of our research team, where we investigate and qualify new concepts for Kamstrup’s wireless technology. The focus will be on data science, investigating the channel effects experienced in our smart metering system, their impact and how to mitigate or absorb these effects. You will experience all phases of a normal development project at Kamstrup, from idea, design, prototype implementation and evaluation, and will thus be acquainted with most aspects of the job as development engineer at Kamstrup.

You will be working with one or more of the following areas during the internship:

  • Statistical data analysis
  • Data science and machine learning
  • Propagation theory for wireless signals
  • Wireless channel models
  • Performance analysis of wireless systems through python

We will plan the specific content of the internship together according to your ambitions and competences. It is also possible to work with the topics described above as a semester project or M.Sc. thesis of 6-12 months duration.

Personality matters
We seek a devoted student who can contribute to the R&D department with her/his updated theoretical knowledge. You are currently studying a relevant engineering degree, for example within Electronic Engineering or Information and Communication Technology (ICT), and have a flair for mathematics, communication theory and software development.
You are thorough and structured as a person. You are capable of working independently with a sense for detail and you actively seek sparring with your colleagues in the pursuit of the optimal solution to a problem.

We offer more than just an internship
We offer an exciting and educational internship, where professional coaching is an integral part of the workday. At Kamstrup, we do very much to encourage the bonding between our interns across the organisation. If you are ready, we offer you an exciting spring with great challenges and teamwork. In 2019 Kamstrup was acknowledged by the municipality of Aarhus and Studenterhus Aarhus as the best internship in East Jutland based on our work with interns.

In addition, Kamstrup offers several employee benefits, including canteen scheme, fruit scheme, fitness centre, in-house dental clinic, hairdresser and a free health clinic. Moreover, we have an active employee association.
