If you able to juggle electronics modules, screens, cables, computer HW, designing custom electronics boards and making user-friendly innovative solutions, all while having fun, this is the right position for you. In the project team you will work on electronics in all aspects as the team carries the product all the way from idea conception, to testing of the final product, and transferring the design to our production in Poland.
Job description
You will be part of a small, agile, mixed-discipline team consisting of mechanical and electronics engineers. By using your skills, imagination and ability to play around with different new technical options we hope to deliver both valuable, incremental updates and new amazing solutions.
Project schedules are relatively short, and projects overlap, so the job content varies a great deal. A typical workday can vary from talking to suppliers, designing electronics boards including layout, integrating electrical modules in cooperation with mechanical engineers, hand-building prototypes, troubleshooting problems, and designing custom cables. Or just trying to figure out how to further improve our products for our users in a clever way. All our teams are empowered to find the best solutions by themselves, or even exploit ideas for brand new products or features. We expect you to add value where you can and not be constrained within your technical field; we still think of ourselves as a big startup
3Shape’s scanner development department is made up of 100+ motivated experts in hardware, software, physics, optics, mathematics, electronics, mechanics and system engineers. Development will happen in close corporation between these groups to achieve the best product design solution and we all care for the best overall system experience. This means that you are never alone on a project and can draw on others’ experience or discuss ideas with highly skilled colleagues. Our 17 electronics engineers collaborate across projects to share experiences and get feedback on design choices, share technology, and develop our expertise in general.
Your profile
- B.Sc./ M.Sc. in electrical engineering
- Relevant work experience or other good qualifications
- You know how to design a digital electronics device
- You can tick of expertise within many of below areas
- Skillful making things/work with your hands
- PCB-layout
- Battery and power technologies
- Ability to program in high level PC languages to some degree
- Knowledge of interfaces such as DDR, LVDS, Ethernet, USB, WIFI, etc.
- Design for EMC & regulatory compliance, including test execution
- Mechanical integration
- Usability engineering
You are a strong team player with a flexible mindset who can work both independently and with your group. You have a desire for contributing in the design/idea phase, for using experimental setups in the exploratory phase, and you reach out beyond your own field of expertise.
