We are currently looking for a specialist to join the Engineering team in Denmark.

You will join an engineering team responsible for the grid compliance studies and validation of future electrical design concepts. Ideas can be tested in our new ambitious test facility next door to our office in Sønderborg.

The easy days of grid integration are over. To safely operate a power system based on renewable energy sources our utility-scale plants obviously need to fulfil a detailed set of requirements. This relies on detailed system studies based on accurate tuning of validated simulation models.

The Engineering organisation is composed of talented and passionate specialists within Mechanical, Electrical, Grid, Simulation, and project engineering.

How you will make a difference in Better Energy
Our organisation is characterised by easy and quick ways of communication, giving you a basis for influencing how you solve your tasks to the best of your abilities.

Your main tasks and responsibilities will include:

  • Execution and review of grid compliance studies
  • Development and validation of dynamic models in PowerFactory and PSCAD
  • Review of 3rd party RMS and EMT dynamic models in PowerFactory and PSCAD
  • Automation of power system analysis reports

You will be located at one of our offices in Denmark - our HQ in Copenhagen, our new office in Kolding or in Sønderborg. Regular travel between your office and our technology hub in Sønderborg, as well as occasional visits to other Better Energy offices, must be expected.

So, who are we looking for?
You are an electrical engineer with a master’s degree or come with several years of professional experience within the domain.

We find it important that you possess the following competencies:

  • Experience with dynamic power system studies in the phasor and EMT domains using PowerFactory and PSCAD
  • Experience with Python automation scripts
  • Good understanding of the design of renewable power plants
  • Knowledge of power quality studies
  • Skills in operating Matlab Simulink, OpenModelica or PSS/E is an advantage.
  • Professional proficiency in English and Danish (spoken and written)
