DTU Tenure Track Assistant Professor or Associate Professor in System Security

We are looking for an assistant/associate professor to extend and complement the system security research and teaching of the Cyber Security Section at DTU Compute. Responsibilities and qualifications
Your focus will be to strengthen our research and education within system security, which includes critical infrastructure security, hardware assisted security including Trusted Computing Modules, secure operating systems, distributed system security including Cloud, Fog and Edge computing security, malware detection, AI security, explicit trust management and zero trust architectures.

Your profile will help us strengthen our research and education in cybersecurity based on a holistic view of computer and network and a systems approach to security. We are currently involved in a number of externally funded projects and we expect that you will actively seek to attract funding from private and public sources, including both national and international research funding agencies).

You will get an active role in shaping the Cyber Security sections profile within the four pillars that define our university: research, education, innovation and public sector advice. Denmark is one of the most digitalized countries in the world, so there are rich opportunities to collaborate with private and public sector organizations with the aim to build a more cybersecure and digitally robust society.

Research areas that we are particularly interested in for this position but not necessarily limited to:

• access control (paradigms, policies and mechanisms);
• authentication and identity management systems;
• blockchains and distributed ledger technologies;
• malware analysis, digital forensics, and penetration testing (ethical hacking);
• privacy and privacy enhancing technologies;
• security engineering;
• security in pervasive computing systems (incl. cyber physical systems, IoT, mobile healthcare systems and wireless computing systems);
• AI and Machine Learning security (both security of and security using); and
• computational trust and trust management systems.

Candidates with strong expertise in other areas of system security are also encouraged to apply. 

You must be responsible for the teaching of courses. You will be expected to learn Danish and be able to teach in Danish after 3 years. DTU can provide Danish language courses.

As formal qualification, you must hold a PhD degree (or equivalent). If you are applying for the associate professor position, you should also have academic qualifications equivalent to those obtained by holding an assistant professorship and documented didactic/pedagogic training.

The Cyber Security Section is looking to expand its engagement in continuing education, so documented experience in this area will be considered an advantage.

Salary and terms of employment
The appointment will be based on the collective agreement with the Danish Confederation of Professional Associations. The salary for the position will be determined by the applicant’s qualifications and in agreement with the relevant union. Expected starting date is 1 January 2022 or as quickly as possible thereafter.
