Here you will contribute in defining and establishing the research group by defining research projects and research objectives – and you will contribute in the transformation of research into teaching in one or more of the following areas:

  • Structural engineering & mechanics
  • Design of buildings in traditional and hybrid materials
  • Digital design and fabrication
  • Design for assembly & disassembly
  • Sustainable renovation of the built environment

DTU Engineering Technology is located at DTU Ballerup Campus and is part of the Technical University of Denmark. We provide courses and supervision that feed into a number of DTU’s Bachelor in Engineering (BEng) Programmes as well as a range of continuing education formats, including Diploma Programmes. Our approach is research and development-based with a strong focus on professional practice, hands-on experience, problem solving and business readiness. Our graduates qualify to detect, analyse and find solutions to real-world challenges and technical problems across multiple engineering disciplines in practice-based, complex and development-oriented job functions.

DTU Engineering Technology has an extensive portfolio of industry-university collaborations at both student and faculty level. This forms the basis of our growing research field, technology implementation in engineering and engineering education, which focuses on synthesizing learnings from multiple single cases into the development of new methodology, theory and tools for technology implementation, primarily within the sectors of construction, production and supply infrastructure.

The pedagogical concept of the Bachelor of Engineering (BEng) programmes is based upon the internationally recognized concept CDIO (Conceive, Design, Implement, Operate) This is a concept DTU has developed in global cooperation with other universities, ensuring that graduates have a high degree of professionalism and strong personal and interpersonal skills taught in an engineering context.

The assistant professor position is part of DTU’s Tenure Track program. We offer a rewarding and challenging job in an international environment. We strive for academic excellence in an environment characterized by collegial respect and academic freedom tempered by responsibility. We develop talent by offering a career mentor, state-of-the-art research infrastructure, and postgraduate teacher training. DTU’s Tenure Track is an appointment of at most six years, during which you will receive career support in the form of professional and personal guidance. At the end of the tenure track appointment you will be evaluated by an external assessment committee, who will assess your appointment to a permanent Associate Professorship. Read more about the DTU Tenure Track program at DTU at this homepage.
