You may be the Wind Turbine Load Simulation/Calculation Engineer we are looking for to join our European Innovation Center in Aarhus Denmark.

Shanghai Electric Wind Power Group’s new European Innovation Center will adopt a project driven organization, where main tasks are research and development on advanced technologies and novel conceptual design, covering domains such as advanced control, load calculation, rotor blade
innovation.

YOUR RESPONSIBILITY
Your role is to prepare and be responsible for researching and developing new turbines load simulation techniques as well as analyzing and evaluating aeroelastic simulations of the wind turbine. In addition, you investigate and validate solutions to upgrade current fleets and platforms, including definition of operational and safety strategies, documenting and presenting your work in a precise way to both internal and external stakeholders. Furthermore, you will have strong interaction with other teams and join in multidisciplinary development, mainly with control, blade and electrical team.

Your key responsibilities are to:

  • Improve wind turbine dynamic/aeroelastic simulation techniques
  • Improve the simulation setup to effectively represent the design load cases according to standards
  • Define the approached to mitigate the loads on the turbine components
  • Prepare the wind turbine models for aeroelastic calculation
  • Analyse the loads and dynamics of the wind turbines according to the design standards
  • Do loads simulation by mean of the aeroelastic codes and pre and post process them, preparing
  • loads reports for design and certification of the wind turbines.
  • Verification and validation of loads in the real wind turbine and give support to the execution of
  • validation tests and analyse the results from the load measurement tests.
  • Cooperate with the Group Leader in the specification and development of new technical
  • procedures/methodologies.

YOUR PROFILE
You hold a Ph.D. or a Master of Science degree within aerospace, structural, mechanical, control Engineering, combined with 5+ years’ experience within loads and control and with working with aero- elastic tools preferably HAWC2, knowledge of Flex5, Bladed is a plus in addition to programming experience preferably in Matlab, python, C++ or similar. Furthermore, you have proven track record in running wind turbine product development from a load perspective preferably for offshore wind turbines and possess strong experience and technical aspects related to load simulations.

You are ambitious and have a high level of drive and energy to create results. You actively drive improving current solutions and processes and come up with new and innovative solutions to the challenges within wind turbine development. You can create success individually and are very capable
of collaborating and interaction with stakeholders and teams, hence you possess an overall understanding of main disciplines within wind turbine operation. We expect you to thrive in working in an international, multi-cultural environment and possess excellent communication skills.

WE OFFER
A unique opportunity to be part of our new European Innovation Center and building a centre of advanced technologies and rich design in a fast-paced blooming renewable energy sector. You will have the unique opportunity to heavily influence the architecture and design of the wind turbine control algorithms and through development of advanced control algorithms have a great impact on the products of tomorrow. You will be working with the best industry specialists in an informal working environment encouraging empowerment and innovation. We offer favourable terms of employment and provide an inspiring environment and international career opportunities.
