At Novo Nordisk, we share a passion for changing patients’ lives, and we are always looking for talented individuals to join us in this effort. This internship will provide an exciting learning opportunity for an accounting, finance or business student who brings new ways of thinking to our company.

About the department
The internship is anchored in the Record to Report (R2R) Process Excellence team. The team is part of Corporate Accounting within Finance, Legal & Procurement (FL&P) and consists of five talented and ambitious project managers with diverse backgrounds. R2R Process Excellence is based in Bagsværd, Denmark, however it has a global reach through projects that impact global finance processes and regular interactions with line of business, IT and the wider finance organisation.

Everyday activities are non-routine in nature and the work is dynamic and heavily project based. The key ambition of the team is to deliver on the long term aspiration of the global R2R process – “High quality accounting with limited human touch”. The strategic projects led by the team vary greatly in scope thus providing for an exciting and challenging work environment. Initiatives focus on optimisations of the end-to-end process by looking into opportunities for digitalisation and automation of the tasks.

The position
To ensure that we deliver on the R2R Strategy ambition, the R2R Process Excellence team is driving multiple cross-functional projects and initiatives. With this internship, you will have the opportunity to gain hands-on experience while supporting the project managers in the team with:

  • Data gathering and analysis to be used in the assessment phase of projects
  • Designing documentation and training material for the implementation phase of projects
  • Writing communication material for the global finance organisation and line of business
  • Tracking progress on strategic KPIs and optimising the data reporting flow

In addition to supporting project execution in collaboration with the team and other departments, there will be space to contribute with ideas and even lead your own initiatives. You will have a chance delve into the details of the underlying accounting processes in order to understand how they are executed globally. Beyond working on strategic priorities, you will be able to start building a network across the finance organisation and will be an ambassador of the global R2R strategy.  You will work in a cheerful and international environment with flexible and balanced working hours throughout your internship.

  • Internship period: full-time position for six months
  • Internships are remunerated, if your educational track allows
  • Start date: As soon as possible
  • A Danish full-time work permit is required
  • Speaking Danish is not required for the position

Qualifications
You are a high performer, who is used to working at a fast pace and with a multitude of stakeholders.

We are looking for an intern who is currently pursuing a master’s degree in business, finance, or IT discipline with excellent results. You have an interest in working with financial processes, data and digital solutions. Speaking the language of the business while understanding the digital possibilities comes naturally to you.

You are self-driven, curious and proactive, willing to learn about complex finance processes and dare to test digital solutions. Experience with financial processes or digital tools (SAP Finance, PowerPlatform, Alteryx or Tableau) is welcome but not a requirement. You are fluent in both written and spoken English on a professional level and ready to invest time and effort in your personal and professional development.
