The opportunity to join the IC Development team at Widex which is responsible for developing chips for our world-renowned hearing aids. We have strong focus on achieving the best possible performance, creating optimized designs and to leverage the silicon technology to the fullest.  We now have exciting opportunities for digital design and verification engineers to join our growing IC team.   

Your responsibility 
In the IC team we work on a wide range of areas related to digital design.  Depending on your interests, skills, experience and role definition, you can work within several of the following areas:     

  • RTL (VHDL) design, implementation and verification. 
  • Micro-architecture 
  • Verification environment design - for example using UVM 
  • Implementation and verification of audio signal processing algorithms, processor sub-systems, chip-level interconnect and wireless solutions.   
  • Chipset Architecture. 
  • Documentation and participation in reviews. 

There are opportunities both to work as a general design engineer or to specialize within some of these areas - for example as a verification specialist.   

You 
We are looking for both senior candidates with several years of experience as well as candidates with less experience.  We expect that you have relevant education (e.g. B.Sc/M.Sc in Electrical Engineering), a strong technical foundation and solid understanding of digital design principles.  Some of the relevant technical skills are: 

  • RTL / VHDL coding 
  • Processor architecture and HW/SW co-design. 
  • Application Specific Instruction-set Processors. 
  • UVM 
  • Scripting (Perl, Python, Bash) and programming in C/C++. 
  • Low power design 
  • Audio systems and signal processing algorithms. 
  • Wireless systems 
  • Interconnect / NoC 

Some key personal skills include: team collaboration, persistence, quality minded, problem solving, goal orientation, and drive.  You should also have good written and verbal communication skills in English.
