Digital Engineering Lead

Metroselskabet are in the process of developing a new metro line for Copenhagen M5 and an extension of the existing line in Nordhavn, M4. 

As part of the delivery of these projects, Metroselskabet has set out an ambitious digital strategy to embrace the use of digital tools and processes to drive the innovation and design process for a more sustainable public transport system. These digital tools will form the foundation for the project through all the life cycles and into operation.

We are now looking for an experienced and innovative Digital Engineering Lead to oversee the development and implementation of these digital engineering processes and systems for M5 and for the M4 extension. About the job
You will work closely with the two project organizations, the digital team, the wider Metroselskabet organization and our suppliers to ensure a common understanding of the requirements and the implementation and finding solutions to the various problems.

As Digital Engineering Lead, you will, in collaboration with the Digital Team, ensure the effective use of digital tools and technologies to enhance project delivery, efficiency and quality, both in house and in collaboration with our suppliers. You will report directly to the Project Director and work closely with the various discipline leads, in particular the BIM Manager and GIS Manger.

Tasks:

• Implement digital engineering strategies and processes for the metro projects, ensuring alignment with project goals and objectives and Metroselskabet’s overall Digital Strategy.
• Lead digital implementation on the projects, providing guidance, support, and direction on digital engineering tasks and activities.
• Coordination between the project and digital teams.
• Collaborate with project stakeholders, including designers, contractors, and clients, to ensure effective communication and integration of digital engineering processes.
• Ensure accurate delivery of digital engineering outputs, such as 3D models, simulations, and virtual reality environments.
• Continuously monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of digital engineering processes and tools and implement improvements where necessary.
• Involvement in all areas of the project from station design to building condition surveys to community engagement.
• Identify new digital tools and processes, including the use of machine learning and AI, that can be implemented in the project to improve efficiency, quality and/or delivery.

About you

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Engineering, Project Management or related fields.
• Minimum of 5 years of experience in design/project management, ideally for large-scale projects.
• Minimum 5 years of experience using and implementing digital engineering tools (e.g. CDE’s, BIM, GIS) – ideally on large scale projects.
• Proven experience in leading and managing a team of digital engineers and specialists.
• Knowledge of digital engineering standards, processes, and best practices.
• Experience in stakeholder management and communication.
• Experience with use of parametric design, machine learning or AI and in their implementation.
