Design Engineer - Injection Molding

In Ortofon continuous product development is at the heart of the business. This requires a constant focus on development, implementation and optimization of plastics and rubber molding techniques and tools. Therefore, Ortofon is currently looking to hire an experienced engineer, who can take the lead of own projects while collaborating with both inhouse and extern stakeholders. As Design Engineer, Injection Molding you will be working with both Ortofon’s own products as well as projects for Ortofon’s business customers.

Some of your responsibilities will be to carry out part design in plastics and TPE for micromolding including optimization for injection molding. In addition, you will be responsible for prototype mold design and testing. You carry out injection process validation for the micro components in accordance with ISO 13485 and you provide technical documentation of the production process.

In the position as Design Engineer you will become part of an expanding and highly dedicated and competent team of engineers. You’ll have close collaboration with Ortofon’s production team as well as with external toolmakers. In addition, you will be in close contact with business customers to advice and carry out their projects related to your area of expertise.

A Mechanical Engineer with solid experience and a passion for tool design
To excel in this job, you have a Bachelor or Master of Science as well as several years of experience from a similar position. You may also be an experienced technician with an eye for both tool and part design and a track record of high performance in this area. You have hands on experience with the processes and machines used in injection molding and you have experience inside the field of micro mechanics. You are a skilled user of 3D CAD programs - preferably SolidWorks - and you are experienced in working with computer-aided manufacturing. If you have experience with injection molding of precision parts, you will have a clear advantage in this position.

You are a team-oriented person, who see the value in collaboration and professional sparring, yet you are also able to work independently and proactively. To handle the customer relations, you will need to have an outgoing side to you, which comes to show when meeting and working with new people. You have an open and visionary mindset, and you can see yourself contributing to the progress and momentum of Ortofon.
