Mechanical Engineer / Mechanical Designer

GEA is looking for 1 ambitious mechanical and design engineer for our Rotary Atomizer team in Process Technology Center Drying and Powder Processing. You will join a team of skilled engineers within rotary atomizer. A product life cycle approach is essential when we design our products. Industry 4.0 mindset and using 3D modelling design for documentation and manufacturing, is part of this approach.

Document our projects
Stepping into our mechanical team of 5, you will work in project teams, where you handle all documentation, such as: Describe our technical specifications, Design specification and progress document in relation to our equipment. Additionally you will also create and maintain 3D and 2D workshop models of machinery components in Inventor as well as creating and maintaining BOMs and fully detailed drawing sets. In addition, contribute to building our standard for Rotary Atomizers.

To do so you will work closely alongside our colleague in Soeborg and other countries. This takes you travelling 5-20 days travelling per year.

Take responsibility of your set of components
In addition to documenting our projects, you will get the full responsibility of a set of components that you service and maintain in our own standard program. Quickly, you will integrate them into our system together with the certificates they provide. Going forward, you run, standardize and troubleshoot the components when necessary. As our most knowledgeable expert on them, you also train colleagues in using them.

When you start, you will receive a thorough one-to-one introduction driven by your mechanical engineer colleagues. When ready, you will be trusted with a project and a deadline to find the right solution. Your colleagues will, of course, work alongside and provide their knowledge and constructive criticism to help you come up with the optimal solutions.

Skilled mechanical engineer
Personally, you quickly take ownership of your set of responsibilities and drive progress of your tasks. You apply your excellent communication skills to balance expectations and create positive collaborations with your colleagues. That way you manage to motivate them and ensure you always meet your deadlines. Also:

Technical competences & fields of responsibility

  • You hold a Mechanical Engineering degree or similar
  • You have knowledge in calculations of rolling element bearings and gears
  • You speak and write English at a high level
  • You have experience with Inventor including parametric construction and iLogic
  • You have experience in 3D modelling design and documentation for manufacturing
  • It would be an advantage if you are familiar with PAX / Bluestar and material mechanical properties
  • Experience with Design of lube oil systems
  • Collaboration with colleagues from other cultures/countries

Also, knowledge of ATEX and or hygienic design (EHEDG, USDA, GMP, FDA) would be a plus

You will also:

  • Participate in teams during major product reviews,
  • Participate in teams during development and improvement of atomizers
  • Be responsible for Rotary Atomizers Indian support team tasks and deliveries. (1-2 persons)
