Department Manager for Operations Maintenance - Global Production

Widex is looking for a manager to head their global operations maintenance of mechanic, electrical and electronic systems and equipment. The role is newly established and represents a unique opportunity to build a new department; setting the right team and defining and implementing standards and SLA’s across HQ production and the production sites in Poland and Estonia to ensure as much uptime as possible.

The objectives are to implement and follow-up on standards and ensure systematics in structure and processes across the production sites, which will happen in close collaboration with locally situated maintenance resources, Group IT, and external suppliers. You will be part of the management team in Manufacturing Process Excellence (MPX) that supports Global Production with e.g. Design for Manufacturing, Electronics, Process Optimization, and Operations Maintenance. You will report to the Head of MPX and work out of the global HQ in Vassingeroed.

The Job
Your role is to assist in managing and prioritizing the day-to-day workload for the maintenance team to ensure that an effective and efficient service is delivered, and that the departmental targets are achieved, including the planning and resourcing of Planned Preventative Maintenance and Calibration. Through your convincing leadership and line management, you will drive a culture of continuous improvements and ensure that your team and your indirect reports (situated locally) deliver and meet their KPI’s and Widex’ quality standards.

Some of your responsibilities (either directly or through your team) are:

  • Identify and manage maintenance projects for production machines, production IT, calibration and measuring equipment.
  • Oversee that inhouse calibration and external calibration are performed timely and as called for.
  • Record and document work carried out on all equipment, both on paper and electronically.
  • Systematically monitor unplanned equipment services to improve maintenance plan.
  • Control and source maintenance tools, equipment and spares.
  • Interact with the organization and proactively seek out input and needs for improvements.

Your success criteria are that maintenance and calibration are performed in accordance with ISO 13485 with lowest equipment downtime and impact on production, and that the functional industrial IT systems are running with high uptime.

The Profile
To succeed in this role, we expect you to be pragmatic. You interact with and listen to the business, and you seek to build standards and processes that match business needs. You set a direction and take action to get there, and in your work you move with ease between having an overview and being hands-on, and you like to do both. Towards your team and stakeholders, you are a strong communicator, engaging and motivating. You are analytical by nature, can set things in systems, and are structured and organized. Your personal competencies are important, and you combine these with following qualifications:

  • Technical credentials or Engineering degree, combined with hands-on experience with production machines (mechanics, electrical, electronics).
  • Experience from defining, implementing and following-up on standards and processes for equipment maintenance.
  • Good understanding of how IT supports the production (from networks to ERP).
  • Some years of people management experience, and still curious to learn more.
  • Knowledge of ISO standards.
  • Fluent in English and Danish - both written and spoken.
