Department Manager for Mechanical in Kalundborg

The Mechanical department in Kalundborg seeks an engaged manager to support our growing demand. The department offers engineering and consultancy services within the areas of mechanical design of process equipment for upstream and downstream production of Active Pharmaceutical Ingredients (API), and supporting systems like Clean Utility, CIP/SIP, waste systems etc.

The department focuses mainly on GMP API facilities in the pharma and biotech business, requiring first-hand experience with operating in these environments, extensive knowledge of regulatory developments, and awareness of the industry’s most recent developments. We provide the mix of technologies that makes the most sense financially to our customers and help them balance their investment and operational costs with regulatory requirements and risks. 

Examples of our services (mechanical design) and projects are:

  • Upstream and Downstream API production both in full scale and pilot scale
  • Process support systems CIP/SIP, waste systems, mixing and storage plants
  • Utility, PW, WFI, clean gasses
  • Equipment specifications
  • Turnkey delivery of process and utility systems
  • Project execution of Conceptual design, Basic design, Detail design, Construction, Qualification and Handover

The job
Providing high-quality mechanical solutions to our customers, you will combine business understanding with technical & GMP experience for the benefit of the clients. You will be leading a group of approximately 25 highly skilled mechanical engineers with special focus on API production. Furthermore, you will be a part of the management team and participate actively in the strategic development of the Mechanical &Qualification department

As manager of the Mechanical department, you will be:

  • Responsible for managing and developing the right competencies in the department
  • Responsible for ensuring close cooperation with our clients and NNE colleagues across discipline

You will report to the director of the Mechanical & Qualification area, heading +100 skilled engineers and technicians.

You will be a part of a management team with 3 other managers and get the opportunity to work in a project-oriented, international climate supporting our customers and colleagues all over the world. Our projects cover the full range from small revamp projects to high-volume greenfield production facilities. You will be a part of an active and exciting environment at NNE in Kalundborg. 

Your qualifications
You have +5 experience within the Pharma & Biotech industry and a M.Sc. or B.Sc. degree in Mechanical Engineering or similar. Preferably, you have 2-5 years of experience as Manager or Project Manager in either a Pharmaceutical or Engineering industry. 

Your qualifications should ideally include as many of below competence areas as possible:

  • Knowledge of pharmaceutical API production and experience in Good Manufacturing Practice (GMP)
  • Good leaderships skills (clear communication, set direction, empathy) 
  • Estimate and review projects regarding mechanical design and support employees in      projects
  • You possess good cooperation skills, focus on customer needs and long-term relationships.
  • Proficiency in spoken and written Danish and English
  • Diligence to solve problems and finish the work in a structured manner
