Join us as our new Data Strategy Lead, Regulatory Affairs Global Operations, Novozymes
We are seeking an ambitious new colleague to help us on our mission to strengthen our use of data and information technology in order to transition Regulatory Affairs to a new digital operating model. Reporting to the Department Manager of Regulatory Affairs Global Operations, you will be a senior member of the Data and Systems team tasked with developing regulatory information management (RIM) as a key organizational capability. This role is ideal for a candidate who wants to take ownership of an organizational transformation journey with visibility at the executive level.

Regulatory Affairs is a global organization that provides strategic, tactical and operational support to Novozymes core business on regulatory matters that are critical for the development and launch of safe and effective biosolutions for our customers around the world. We are a high-energy team of 60+ colleagues located over 14 sites in Europe and the Middle East, North and South America, and Asia.

You will be part of Regulatory Affairs Global Operations, a recently re-formed high-impact team tasked with transforming Regulatory Affairs into a data-driven organization supported by the latest RIM technology from market leader Veeva.

In this role you’ll make an impact by:

  • Supporting the management team in developing a Regulatory Affairs data strategy and roadmap, then owning and driving the activities to successful implementation
  • Implementing data management, data quality and data governance initiatives and helping colleagues become more data driven and data oriented
  • Translating the ambitions and needs of regulatory teams into concrete initiatives in collaboration with our team’s senior process specialist, system specialist and data engineer
  • Taking both a leading and hands-on approach to development and improvements projects as we hunt additional benefits and values from our RIM system and other digital tools
  • Acting as the strategic data and IT liaison to stakeholders outside our function, most notably Novozymes IT and its recently established Data Office, Digital Transformation & Commercial Excellence, R&D Data Management and Quality Management Systems
  • Communicating and positioning Regulatory Affairs as a strategic, data driven, global business partner

To succeed you must hold:

  • 5 – 8 years of relevant experience in biotech, life sciences or similar regulated industries or from management consulting serving these industries, with at least 3 years in a data- or IT-related project management role, demonstrating:
    • ability to lead complex projects and cross functional initiatives/teams to success
    • strong communication skills and talent for translating complex issues into clear concise messages
    • an “influencer” mindset to navigate Novozymes’ network organization
  • Strong background in data services/products, databases, data modelling/relational data, finding patterns, understanding data formats
  • Experience with one or more of the following is a major advantage:
    • Regulatory Information Management Systems (RIMS), in particular Veeva
    • Managing Cloud technology, SaaS solution and software vendors on a strategic level
    • Working with data engineers / scientists on visualizing data with reporting tools (e.g., Tableau, PowerBI)
  • Result oriented, strategic thinker who can grasp complex dilemmas quickly and communicate them concisely
  • Academic education in IT, engineering, or science.
  • General understanding of Regulatory Affairs
  • Able to work effortlessly in both written and spoken English. Danish is not a requirement

Location:
This job will be located at Novozymes Global Headquarters in Bagsvaerd, Denmark.
