Copenhagen Business SchooI invites applications for the position as Data Solutions Developer at the Department of Strategy and Innovation. The position involves coordinating, advising and supporting SI researchers on tasks related to scientific work on large-scale data sets. The candidate will handle a variety of tasks, including:

  • Assisting faculty and postdocs in using the large-scale datasets we have available with a special focus on the confidential register datasets we have access to at Statistics Denmark.
  • Organizing, documenting and linking large-scale datasets, including confidential data from Statistics Denmark and acquired from external partners.
  • Establishing procedures for updating large-scale databases.
  • Engineer and implement ad hoc data solutions tailored to research projects in the field of Strategy and Innovation, involving comprehensive analysis of encrypted text and leveraging Large Language Models and Machine Learning techniques to proficiently classify, collect, and process data.
  • Performing text-based procedures for linking different datasets and for classifying data.  
  • Maintaining relations with external partners, including data agencies, IT support functions, and external suppliers of data and IT hardware. 

The ideal candidate will have documented experience in independently conducting such tasks and in supervising and delegating tasks to assisting personnel.

SI’s research is focused on strategy, innovation, entrepreneurship, and international business. The department’s ambition is to host an internationally recognised environment for research and teaching within the broad area of strategy. The department’s research is generally cross-disciplinary. Faculty members have backgrounds in management, economics, sociology, and economic geography. The theoretical foundation for research in these areas is eclectic, combining strategy, innovation, and internationalization theory with insights from economics, sociology, psychology, and economic geography.

The number of staff at the department is approximately 90. This includes about 55 faculty members (professors, associate professors, tenure track assistant professors), 7 administrative staff and 30 members of staff who are hired on temporary contracts as research assistants, postdocs or PhD students.

Salary and terms of employment
Employment and remuneration take place in accordance with the applicable agreement between the Danish Ministry of Finance and the relevant organization with classification and remuneration depending on qualifications and experience. This is a permanent, full-time position placed at the Department of Strategy and Innovation in the middle of CBS Campus in Frederiksberg, Denmark.
