Commercial Architect specialising in contractual and financial assessments

If you are an architect having worked extensively with cost/risk assessments of the application landscape or cost impacts of new technologies, or you’re working as an IT controller interested in expanding into architecture, don’t hesitate to get in touch.

You support and drive strategic change
You’ll join the IT Architecture team who are responsible for the overall strategic direction of architecture in Ørsted. Your main work will be to ensure optimal financial and commercial conditions around the IT asset base aligned with our strategies, principles and guidelines. You’ll support the right framing of requirements with relations to both general architectural compliance and legal and financial considerations with the intent to optimise and improve the commercial conditions for existing and future IT investments.

Acting as an integrator between the Architecture team, IT procurement and the business, you’ll support early assessments of the commercial impact of new initiatives and new technologies, as well as contract renewals or renegotiations impacting current architecture. And you’ll be part of transformation activities such as major RFP/negotiation activities and related transitions.

Finally, you’ll focus on continuous improvements of the commercial aspects of asset life cycle management, as well as drive the continuous risk/cost optimisation of the application landscape focusing on the commercial governance from intake to sunset.

Key responsibilities 
Your key tasks will be to:

  • assess requests for acquisition of software/hardware/cloud solutions, focusing on commercial aspects
  • co-develop and maintain processes and procedures for application life cycle management
  • analyse application optimisation/rationalisation from a commercial aspect (detecting opportunities/threats)
  • develop strategy, principles and guidelines supporting continuous evaluation of the asset base
  • improve financial control of our application portfolio, ensuring transparency across the vendor landscape
  • support the application responsible in building and maintaining the tactical and commercial vendor relationships  

Work experience

  • Extensive experience with the commercial assessment and impact analysis of new technologies/solutions
  • Extensive experience with contract management of IT environments
  • Experience with RFPs, assessing and comparing competing IT solutions
  • Experience using financial models and tools to analyse and deduct insight
  • Experience with application life cycle management
  • Experience with license management
  • Experience in contract negotiation and management at corporate level
