Most importantly, are you eager to contribute your energy and talent to a diverse team that works hard to bring benefits to our partners and patients?  Then we welcome you to be part of the global Data Management & Analytics team in Novo Nordisk.

The position
We’re looking for a Student Assistant to support our team of Cloud Developers and DevOps Engineers, with an initial focus on maturing our enterprise analytics platform which sits atop our data lake.

Your tasks will be varied and will involve assisting with the architecture and security infrastructure of our analytics platform. You may also be involved in testing and documentation. You’ll be exposed to a range of AWS Cloud Technologies in a learning environment that encourages knowledge sharing and creativity.

Qualifications
You are currently enrolled in the first or second year of your master’s degree and have had excellent results from your studies. You’re comfortable programming with Python and may have had some experience to SQL, R, Alteryx or Tableau. Ideally, you’ve had some exposure to AWS Cloud Technologies, either through your studies or personal projects. You are the kind of person that loves finding solutions to technical problems, and you are excited by the possibilities of cloud computing.

You are comfortable communicating in English (spoken and written) and you’re able to work both independently and collaboratively. You are not easily intimidated by the unknown, and you really want to learn and understand the new tools you’ll encounter in the role. You like working in an informal atmosphere where flexibility and responsibility go hand in hand. You are optimistic, determined, and eager to have a positive impact on your team.

The position is based in Bagsværd, Denmark. We expect you to be available to work between 10 and 15 hours per week, with flexibility offered around your study requirements.

About the department
You will join our international team of architects, developers, analysts and data engineers. The Data Management & Analytics team is a global, high performing team with a variety of technical and analytical backgrounds. Our responsibilities cover data acquisition and ingestion; data analysis and data engineering; evangelising the use of data and advanced analytics; and supporting data science users of our platform.

We are cloud native and we work primarily on AWS. We deliver solutions using Scrum methodology. We have built and are operating the enterprise data lake and data science platform on AWS to support our vision, which is to be able to deliver world class management of data. The overarching goal is to use data to gain new understandings and insights, drive optimisations and create true value to Novo Nordisk and the patients we serve.

We are currently 40 internal and external employees in three different locations in India, USA and Denmark. We are expanding our offerings to the global organization, particularly in the data engineering space, so we need an extra resource to succeed with our journey and ambitious vision.

We’re Inspired by life
We are a proud life-science company, and life is our reason to exist. We’re inspired by life in all its forms and shapes, ups and downs, opportunities and challenges. For employees at Novo Nordisk, life means many things – from the building blocks of life that form the basis of ground-breaking scientific research, to our rich personal lives that motivate and energise us to perform our best at work. Ultimately, life is why we’re all here - to ensure that people can lead a life independent of chronic disease.
