At FOSS, we are driven by a strong sense of purpose, and we hope you are too. A fast growing world population means that the global food production will have to increase by 60% by 2050 to meet demand. We want to come up with smarter ways to make the best use of agricultural resources, and to help eliminate food waste. If that sounds like something you would like to get out of bed for every Monday morning, then read on.
Your everyday as our new R&D colleague
As a Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD) Simulation Engineer, you will play a central role in the development process and you will get unique opportunities to work with many different and challenging technologies. As a part of our simulation team you will work closely together with both local colleagues and colleagues in Hungary. You’ll report to Anders Brask, Simulation Team Manager in Hillerød, Denmark.
The job will involve working on one or more projects to support design decisions with simulations. Starting with the project definition and solution strategy, followed by execution and presentation of results. You will closely follow a number of projects and represent the simulation team when needed to ensure that the simulation results are utilized in the best possible way.
The primary task is to perform heat and flow simulations using CFD software Star-CCM+ and present the results to other engineers and managers. Other tasks may include web app development in Matlab.
The preferred candidate holds a degree in mechanical engineering or other relevant field and has experience in some of the following:
- Experience with mechanical hardware development
- Theoretical background in fluid dynamics and/or physics
- Various types of flow and heat transfer
- Good knowledge about solid materials and fluids
- Experience with CFD software at a high level, preferbly Star-CCM+
- Experience with CAD e.g. Autodesk Inventor
- English language at a high level is required

What will make you fit in well
As a Simulation Engineer it is important to listen and if necessary, challenge the task description. Once the task is understood, a structured and process-oriented work approach is expected. Finally when the results are ready they must be communicated to the stakeholders in a clear manner. So good communication skills are essential.
